Looking for the ultimate set up for 31 " draw 55-60 lbs , feathers , footing , point and insert weight , what are you guys using ? have been away from the trad for too long , any ideas ? like to build myself and need some thing to do , thanks ahead
I shoot wood arrows full length(30.5 -31" draw length) I leave them full length with 3 4.5-5" feathers(my own burn, shields or nanners will do) with a 160grn Hill Head or snuffer will work on anything.
May I add Douglas Fir shafts are the new cedar. Great shafts and priced rite.
I shoot 62#@31" I use full length GT Traditionals with 225gr's up front. 100gr brass inserts with 125gr broadheads. I use 7" wraps from onestringer and either four 4" feathers or three 3" feathers.
Old goat 2 using the 5575?

Do you know finished weight for woods?
Gold Tip 7595 100 grain insert, 250 grain point. Leave it full length. If you are cut almost to center this should do the trick.

No 75/95, with that long of draw I can't use any less untill I drop down in the 50's poundage wise. If you don't want to go so heavy on the tip weight you can drop down to the 55/75 but then it's hard to hit the 10gpp I was shooting for with a decent FOC, think it comes in around 16%. Still get plenty of speed too, mostly due to the long draw length.
54 @ 31 longbow at 1/16 before center. Shooting 32 inch trad only carbons .300 spine. Standard inserts with 200 on the tip. I never can get super heavy on the tip like some people. Stu's calculator works pretty good for me but others have found it to be off for them.

With 5" feathers and a 160gn head around710-715. with5" feathers and a 125gn point around 608-610.
55# at 31". Barely getting away here with the GT 5575 with 225 gr. on the front. 10gpp and just over 17% foc. But I have the shafts cut down as far as I can- the back of the broadhead touches the riser at full draw. Built in draw check I guess- but my next step will have to be 7595 to give me some latitude on point wt. while maintaining spine, overall wt. and foc reasonable.
