Hey guys,
I'm about to order a custom fiberglass bow with sheep horn tip overlays and just want to make sure that the sheep horn will make the bow fastflite capable? Let me know.
Thanks.
Jon
I really like the look of horn tips myself. Don't think they alone will make a bow ok fast flite or not.
Question best asked of the bowyer you're ordering from...can't get a better answer than from the builder
Enjoy the new bow!

What bow and what bowyer are you getting it from
Most bowyers I have dealt with say that it is, I have it on all my Maddogs and shoot only D-10 strings, no problems.
Okay cool Prairie drifter. I'm getting a custom Maddog, so if you say it works good than I should be all set. Thanks.
Jon
In fact Mike said he will be including a D-10 string on all his bows that can handle it so you should get one w/ the bow.
I'm having a bow made now by Leon Stewart with sheep tips and it will have a FF string. As others have suggested...ask the bowyer.
Ron
I have had it crack across the nock groove on two bows. It's nice stuff but not as tough as you might think for this application.
I usually put some fiberglass under it, or some hardwood of some sort.
I am a big fan of sheep horn tips, but all my bows that have them have a lower layer of Micarta.
the horn is for decoration, glass or phenolic under it protects the limb.

Mine work great!

I've got 4 bows w/sheep tips and use fastflight on all of them. They are glass/carbon/bamboo limbs. The sheep horn is unbelievable tough.
