My oldest son was one of the lucky winners of the Christmas bow giveaway from TGMM and Maddog Archery. My wife and I went away for our 10th anniversary when the bow showed up at the house. My Mother-out-Law was instructed to not let him open it if the bow showed up while we were away. So immediately upon coming in the door, I was bombarded with questions about the bow. So without further hesitation, here is one happy kid (Nick)...

I have a feeling there is gonna be some dead rabbits in this bow's future.
AWESOME!!
I can't wait to hear the stories and see the pictures. What a lucky young man!

 One of the best things is breaking in a new bow!
I have no doubt about the rabbits being in trouble. That is a fine looking bow and young man. Love the brown glass and TGMM arrowhead medallion. Very classy stick that zips an arrow.
I have a Nick and a very similar looking box that arrived yesterday. More on that later when we get out for some pic's.
awesome !!

He will be outpulling you soon Mike.
Watchout backyard deer.
Mike, I think he likes it. :clapper:
More importantly, you have taught him good form, he will have that long after he outgrows the bow.
You've done good.
:clapper:
That's pretty cool! :)
Mike you are one lucky Dad. :goldtooth:
 to the bowyer for his generosity and :D to you and your son Mike ... Thanks for sharing the picts with us.
*Disclaimer from the bowyer*
Each November, Members of the TGMM donate items for a fund raiser, based on the money raised they purchase X number of bows from Maddog Traditional Archery LLC. as much as I'd like to be able to donate such a number, Vermonster 13 and I have a verbal contract and I sell them to the Tradgang at a discounted price. So they are buying them from me. It's the members of the TGMM that donate, and Vermonster 13 that chose me, that are the generous ones, I just make them and help a bit with the fundraising, but I'm a small part of the big picture.
Nothing better than getting kids involved. :bigsmyl:

I got both my kids to start shooting at age 3. This one is now 9 and has two confirmed chipmunk kills by the longbow and wood arrows. His younger brother has removed the tail from a chipmunk as well. I think they are both well on their way to having a productive longbow career.

That's awesome!
:clapper: Awesome!
Hats off to all involved. Great post!

I know the feeling, I've been fortunate to be given bows by some special friends. :archer:
We're going to have to get a youth hunt going annually- my favorite weekends at Hog Heaven are the ones that have young men and women attending.
Way to pass on the heritage!!
Totally Awesome!!
you'll both have heaps of fun with that!! :archer2:
I hope you didn't make him wait to long.
That's a nice bow.
