Good day all, I would like to get some 145gr BH, but I don't know which one is the best, or preferred amongst us Trad hunters?? I want glue on, preferably 2 blades with maybe bleeders?? Ho and of course, they have to be readily available, so current models/brands
Thank you
Eclipse, get'em with or without bleeders, Great heads!

Ace all day long
Hi David, I like the Eclipse and STOS in this price range. If you jump in price the Tuffheads look really nice.
Thank you guys it is really help full!! The eclipse look like some thing I could work with... What do you guys think of the Abowyer Bone Head 145gr, to me it look good, but I'm not sure... it is a little shorter for the same width... and a lot more $$
Maybe the Eclipse after all. Double or single bevel??
The 145 Eclipse is a fine head. Ace is another fine choice. With these two I would go with a double bevel. The Abowyer are excellent.
I'm shooting stos out of my 50lb bows and shot my deer with the 145 stos this late season. Going to give it a try for spring bear here in a few months to
I'll tell you what I shoot, it is a 68" 65#@29( my actual draw), Northern Mist Classic, with FF skinny, split R/H. I'm looking into woodies and heads.
When I got the bow, the guy I got it from in a trade, send me a few arrows made for that bow, his son's draw the same as me and the arrows have 145gr points on them, et they shoot pretty well so far(didn't have a chance to shoot a lot, and it was inside at about 6yards...). So I was thinking that finding good 145gr head would be a way to play with that bow a bit more.
I usually, like to shoot heavier points to achieve the grn/# needed, like around 10-11...
So I've been in touch with Snag, regarding arrows and all, and I'm trying to figure things out.
By the way David(snag) is one great guy to deal with, a real friend!
Vantage Point Archery... VPA Terminator, 160gr 3 blade head thats top notch in my book!

I'd echo the Eclipse suggestion. Great heads. And guaranteed for life against bend or break.

I have had good success with the Eclipse. They really hold an edge nicely one you get them sharp. I use a KME knife sharpener and they get very very sharp.

The Abowyer Bone Head is a solid head that performs well for a Single Bevel two blade, plus it is wicked sharp from the factory... I used this head with a 125Grain Steel insert on a very nice Iowa Whitetail Buck quartering away with excellent penetration performance. If you'd like to read about it and see pics in more detail, here's the link:

You can either enjoy the whole read or scan towards the tail end of the thread for the specifics on the buck harvest... The Abowyer folks are top notch to work with!
What are you planning on shooting?!?!?!?!?!
This would help a bit....big diff between bison and deer.
Thank you every one!
Terry, up here, for me it will be mainly caribou, moose if I can get close enough, black bear, and if I'm lucky enough, dal sheep...
But let's be realistic, let"s talk about the 3 first ones.
Cheers
"65#@29( my actual draw)"
Take your pick......
Thank's
David
I just remove the fletching on one of the arrow that came with the bow and here what I found: Cedar, 29 1/8 BOP, 145grn point, spine in at 65#(400). total arrow weight, 552grn. It seems to shoot really good. I would love to have a little more mass, so I think I would go a little longer in shaft. The bow is pretty quite even with out string silencer and dead in the hand.
What do you think??
Thank you
David
Just wanted to bring it back up to see what people think, with the info in my last post.
Cheers
