I've been messing around with crafting my own tab for a while. I've reached a point where I am happy with the end result. This tab I make is a double latigo leather stiched with artificial sinew. I've found the Double Latigo to break in almost immediately yet last a really long time. It's soft enough to feel your string yet still offer good protection and a smooth release. I'm making up a few more, if anyone sized large to small would try one I'd appreciate it and gimme some feedback on it. I'll have 5 to send out by next week to whoever is interested, for free obviously including shipping. Shipping will only cost a couple bucks each and I really want feedback on the feel of these so its worth it to me.

Those tabs look beautiful. I usually wear fingers but would love to try one out and give you full feed back. If you want someone who usually shoots tab that is fine let me know. I would be happy to help out though.

Thought I'd add I hand cut all the leather, not die cutting. I also hand stitch them all one by one. I stamp an Acorn on each one as shown, kinda became my mark. The only thing I don't have extras of is the clips for the finger loop. I'll send it with the proper length rope but I'm having trouble sourcing those spring loaded clips. Ive just been pulling em off my old sweaters.

If you have any left I would love to try one in a size large. I'm always looking for the hand made stuff Instead of the mass produced. If you don't have any of the trial ones left I would be willing to pay for one.

those are exactly like the ones I use except I can think of the name of manufacturer they are awesome
Very nice work sir! Have you considered using an elastic round cord for the finger loop instead of the string and slide? Just a thought that might help you solve the problem of finding that plastic slide.

I have though of the elastic. After using it and comparing it to the paracord I found the cord to stay where I cinch it and feel nicer.

Sent you a PM. I use a med or large. I have not found one that I like. If there are to small, my nails rip my lip. If too large, I don't feel like I get a good release. Latigo may be the way to go for me. I have tried mostly Cordovan and calves hair.

I went through this about a month ago. The best material would be horween leather (true cordovan) . I called E Bateman and talked about thickness and a feathered edge. He sent me two horween blanks and I converted my cavalier tab to a three under. One blank had the horween stamp on it. Slick and will shoot for ever.
Now that's what I call a good looking 3 under tab...if I'm not too late,I'd like to be considered for one the "guinea pigs" please. I've tried other's that either too big or too small. I think I'd be a medium
