Wanting to build a new bow with curly maple veneers. Looking for pictures to help me decide what I should use for the riser material. Thanks

That will be a tough choice, curly maple limbs go nice with so many riser woods. With riser wood matching wedges and fad outs. One of my favorite woods. Good luck

Just picked up this Pronghorn. 48#@28"-66" longbow.
Curly maple and Birdseye Maple. May be prejudiced, but I think it is stunning. as usual photo's don't do it justice.

That is the great thing about Curly Maple. You can completely change the look of it with just a little stain. I just built an all stabilized charcoal Curly Maple Nitro. I'll try to get a picture of it up.
Some great looking bows on here already and I'm sure many more to come.

Curley Maple has gotten to be one of my favorite limb veneers. Really didn't know it could look so nice in a riser. I have in mind (if I ever order another custom) of having Curly Maple veneers stained kinda dark but fading to darker stained toward the tips and butts. Any one done that? I

not the best pics of the curly Maple but bow is a chek-mate with walnut and curly maple, the maple is getting nicer and nicer as the bow ages and is really getting some defined charater as the grain comes out.
