Title: Arrow selection
Post by: ruger28 on January 05, 2013, 11:32:00 PM
When I first got started with my 50 lb. Bear Montana a few months ago my draw length was 28" as time has gone on I find that I can comfortably draw 29 to 29 ½ .  The bad part is that now my arrows are to short.  Anyway, I received a gift card from Cabelas and I am thinking about ordering a dozen of the Cabelas Stalker extreme carbon arrows and shooting them full length. The Shafts are marked 55/70 and weigh 8.4 grains/inch. Any opinions on these carbon arrows? Any issue with shooting 32" shaft at my draw length?

hi there - The arrow you are looking at is spined way heavy for your 50 lb bow.  Be carefull with a shaft that is to stiff.

I took a look on Cabelas and see a arrow which would be a good slection for you.  Beman Classic MFX Arrow With 5" feathers. IK-460337 they say they are in stock and $69.99.  500 spine is what you will need.
Beman
Beman Classic™ MFX™ Arrows with 5'' Vanes

Sporting the traditional look of a PhotoFusion™ wood-grain finish with the advantage of microdiameter MFX carbon construction. ±.003'' straightness factor. Direct-fit X Nock installed. Brass HIT inserts included. Fletched with 5'' feathers. Per 6.
Sizes: 340, 400, 500.

The 500 spine should work for you. hope this helps.

Cabela's is not Trad Archery user friendly at least in their Eugene store. They have a stack of a half dozen recurve and long bows in their shooting area.  No arrows at all with feather fletch. Glad to see at least the mail order source has something for the traditional archer.  I have my fingers crossed they will work.  They should.  That is one fine bow you have there.
