Check out the amazing reflexes of these squirrels.
Both shots were clean misses, not one hair on the judo points.

LOL, too funny.
Gifted little things aren't they.
That douglas fir arrow is tough! I've shot into numerous trees, roots, rocks, etc.
I have a few dozen and they take a beaten!
Nice clip
Those Grey squirrels have small jet packs on there back. I have killed a few but like yours most jump out of the way. Then they chatter at you for 30 minutes.
I had one in a single walnut tree in an open pasture once and thought he doesn't have any other trees to jump to. After the 1st arrow he jumped out of the tree from about 20 feet up and hit the ground running.
Ah squirrel hunting, so much fun. Think im going to try and get out monday with the longbow and pellet rifle. longbow will go first then after I miss and its laughing at me from adistance the pellet gun will come out. Have so many squirrels at my deer stand i should have many many shots wit hthe longbow :)
THat's great. Surprised that the dang squirrels have skunked me. The one I thought I had jumped and I broke his tail. I suppose one squirrel now fears me.
I stopped counting but know I was 0 for 10 at one time.
I hate when they do that...
:bigsmyl:
I have never seen so many gray squirells than at your place Jim.
That second shot looks dead on. That squirrel has some mighty fine reflexes. And he has you fooled into feeding him!
LOL. I do the same thing here all the time. It's a whole lot of fun to hunt them, not so much to clean them.
Thanks for sharing the video with us.
Quick little buggers...eh? :jumper: "Missed me...missed me."
Makes me wonder how the heck a hawk can catch one.
Jim, I like to say "the squirrel did the 'matrix' on me ".....dodging bullets . First year I have not connected with one .Keanu Reeves must be putting on clinics here for them
Ha! This is great. Whenever I go out squirrel hunting, in reality it is "hiking with a longbow." Hard targets to hit. A few weeks ago, I went squirrel hunting with a co-worker. He brought his bolt action 22, I brought my longbow. Neither one of us bagged any squirrels, but when people ask, I tell them that I "hit as many as a guy with a rifle."
:biglaugh: :biglaugh: Thats funny. God bless.
Close only counts in Horse Shoes and Hand Grenades!
... mike ... :)
It should be safe from any bird aswell. It always amazes me how fast birds and other small game are.
great video
I drilled one last season with a judo. It ran up a tree about twenty yards in front of me, and barked at me for probably 25 minutes. Tuff little turds!
Jason
good shooting none the less bro. cool video. :clapper:
Good stuff!!
I think I hit one squirrel once out of every 100 shots. And they say deer have fast reflexes
They bring the term "Cat like reflexes" to a whole nother level! Thanks for sharing!
Steve
Yes these buggers are fast. I took this one with my Longbow a few days ago. I hit him wih a Black Diamond Delta. Look where the arrow hit him through the hind quarter and came out mid way on the other side of the Squirrel. They are fun to shoot at, this make number 2 in the past month.

Very cool and very funny.
Those wascally wabbits......err I mean squirrels. Awesome videos! I swear the few tree rats that I have stuck were nothing short of peer luck.
Awesome movies! :archer:
Holy cow! Just glad I'm not the only one that happens to! :biglaugh:
Better luck next time....for you I hope!
very cool, thank you for sharing
last shot at one it was going to be a clean miss until he jumped into the arrow for a head shot and ending up doing himself
Tony Sanders,
Good shootin'
2 weeks ago, I hit one square in the chest as he was standing on his hind legs in the crook of a tree at eye level..15yds ish away...shot a spiral fletched flu flu at him with a "SGT" small game head. He cut a flip or two out of the tree, landed on his back, rolled over, barked at me and then took off...I now shoot 4 fletched flu flu with a field point/viper small game head combo so there is at least some penetration...too many misses to count as well. Great video!
Cool!
Bisch
Been there, done that. I feel your pain.
Two in one month is awesome Tony!
This is the only 1 I have hit this year and it was a big fox squirrel!

Awww, Greg....that don't count.
Everyone knows that fox squirrels are blind, fat, slow and stupid!
I shot and hit ONE once...with a muzzy...he jumped up and ran off the property onto posted ground like a scalded cat!
Guys who say they shoot them w/ big blunts must head shoot them ornery suckers!
This past season...(my first as a Trad user only), I was desperately trying to claim a 1st kill! Since most deer on my property have higher than normal IQs and none turned out to be suicidal, I elected to attempt to reduce the current Red Squirrel populace. Regretfully, my Judo points only managed to clip a tip of a tail and fur on several occasions!
JL :archer2:
I have a picture of a jack rabbit's ear hanging off my judo. That's all I got, the rest of him left quickly. A jack is 4 times larger than a squirrel, and they can move, but darn, those in that video are amazing! Great film, thanks for sharing
Heck I dont fell so bad about missing them now! thanks for showing us this.

I miss all the time! Funny thing is, my friends who don't hunt all think that squirrel hunting with a bow is "too easy" and "unfair." Ha! They have no idea just how difficult it is! I might as well be hunting hummingbirds. Like I said before, squirrel hunting for me is really just hiking with a bow or stump shooting with a hunting license.
I always think I made a good shot on a ground squirrel if I hit right where his head was sticking out of the whole. Quick little beggars. I sympathize with old mister hawk having to try so hard for supper. I've hit prairie dogs a number of times before they tucked their head back in the hole but never a ground squirrel yet. Good video and good shootin'.
