Thought I would post some pictures of my new bow. Been shooting my compound for the last 7 years. This is my first traditional bow. Assyrian biocomposite from grozer 43# @ 28"
Not sure it can be classified as a horsebow. The shape more like a hybrid longbow. Its outer layers are sinew and horn but reinforced with modern glass composite on both sides of the wood core. The siyah nocks are strengthened with hard wood insert and sinew. I have used a fast flight string on it without problems. Its difficult to string at first due to the extreme reflex but I got the hang of it. It has a smooth and sweet draw and a joy to shoot. Video of shooting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYyGooccn74
Please post pictures of your primitive/ historical/ horse bows as well.

Wow thats cool I have never seen anything like that I beat it flat throws an arrow
Pretty neat. I don't have one or I would post up pics.
I bet that one is tricky to string.

You are right. It spits a 9.2gpp arrow with fury. Noticeably faster than my 40# round wheel compund.
Now that is sweet!! I want one!
That is pretty cool

I was muscles shaking, sweating all over and cursing on the first few attempts trying to string it without success!
Neato!
Nice asian look!
Very nice
Nice lines once it's strung.
Cool
Posted video of shooting on first post
Neat bow.
Very cool.
Nice bow!
Very cool bow..glad you made the switch!!
cool,
lines very similar to a recurve
Very nice, and I like the arrow speed.
Thats a cool bow and it spits those arrows out good.
Sweet bow! I'd get a bow-stringer for that one.
Thanks for the responses. The step through method works nicely for this bow. There is really no chance to torque the limbs against your leg as the tips are very slim unlike a regular recurve. I have since added a feather arrow rest for more consistent shooting and a D10 string from LRU. Now it shoots even quieter and very accurate.
That is a nice looking bow! Thanks.
Yep. Step through is fine with that bow. A stringer is probably asking for trouble.
Here are two of mine: (http://jhoneil.smugmug.com/photos/i-3cczvRm/0/M/i-3cczvRm-M.jpg)

He Jimmy, did you make that grip yourself? How? Do you have a more detailed pic of that?
Yes I did. It was tennis handle wrap. Feels more comfortable like this. I will take a more close up pic of the handle and feather rest when I am free.

Beautiful collection you have there. Which models are the 2 bows on the right?
From left to right: Spitfire, Grozer Magyar, Jhoneil Changeling, Jhoneil Datu, and Hwarang from Thomas Duvernay.
Waiting....

Here are the close up pics. Just a simple wrapping with a few extra layers on the belly side to create a little palm swell. The arrow rest is cut out from 3" feather fletch.
