Several years ago I conducted what I called "Bootcamps". Now I see all sorts of various bootcamps on TV. For six straight years I am proud to say I sold out to capacity. The very popular sessions included literally hundreds of satisfied attendees. As I previously stated, you can read the books, watch the videos, go to the seminars and that's all fine BUT when someone takes you by the hand and walks you through the practical applications on how it's done THAT'S where it really sinks in. Probably not the best analogy, but watching war movies and/or reading books on war is nothing like actually being there. My whitetail bootcamps are three day sessions that condense a lifetime of hunting experience into one long weekend. I take you by the hand and walk you around my own personal hunting grounds. I show you my own treestand set-ups and explain how, why, where and when I hunt each of them. I "spill my guts" and point out the minute details of woodsmanship many people apparently overlook. This year I will be holding bootcamps on March 21-22-23, 2013 and March 28-29-30, 2013 in Decatur County, Iowa. Openings will be limited. The prices vary from single rates, to youth rates and/or hunting partner rates. If anyone is interested please email your postal mailing address to barrywensel@hotmail.com and I'll send you all the details. Thanks and Happy New Year to all. BW
Barry, this is so cool. Except the part about you taking me by the hand. That scares me a little. :-)
Seriously, Barry (and Gene) are the bona fide (Barry, that means real deal) best there is in Whitetails. I have enjoyed every hunt I've been on with them for pigs and such, and if I were to hunt a whitetail, I would go with Barry! As long as he doesn't try to touch my hand. Best, Jay Campbell
This sounds very interesting, I sent you my contact info by email. What better way to continue my white tail education from other than the great Uncle Barry?
I can't make March B but can you pencil me in for the first weekend in November?
CJ
No CJ... you might tell Mitch Rompola all my secrets. bw
I thought you two where close since the "Whitetal Masters" book? What happened? Oh yeah, never mind.
This is a great Deal..my brother and I went a few years back and the things Barry shows and explains to ya, plus the chance to ask questions is well worth the time and $$..it would prolly cost ya what a weekend Vacation would..I highly recommend it.
I'm dying here. That's the time when I let my girlfriend talk me into going on a cruise!!
Glad to see you are doing this again Barry. I want in!
Sent you my mailing address.
Tom
Barry,my buddy 'tdog' and I attended your April '08 bootcamp,I was the nut with the camcorder, and have always been glad we did.Might just be coincidence but since then I've taken my 2 best bucks ever with the bow,or any weapon for that matter, and tdog has done well also.
Thanks again for the lesson and it's good to hear you're putting on the bootcamps again.
Scean b,

Does she still have that restraining order on you Tuck? :jumper:
Dam trail cams!!!
I can't think of a better investment in my white-tail hunting future. Sent my mailing address.
Thanks Barry for the opportunity, Trap
My brother and I both went in '05. $$ well spent!!
What an incredible opportunity.
That might be the time I go under the knife for a new hip, but this would be a reason for me to get a new passport. Good time of year for me normally, so maybe next time?
Im guessing any time spent with a Wensel would be entertaining.
Barry, Count Greg White and myself in for the last week. I'll send a check tomorrow to hold a spot.
Thanks,
Bill
A friend and I attended one of the last boot camps Barry held. It was a great time for the whitetail beginner as well as the experienced hunter. There are always new things to learn but we also found it a "convidence builder". By that I mean,,,you hear or actually see in the field how someone like Barry does something or "why" they do it and you say to yourself "I do that! " or "I know a spot just like this! " An experience like Barry's Bootcamp you can go back to your hunting grounds feeling like you have been doing somethings right and now you can add a couple new things you've learned.
The only piece of advice I might have about attending Barry's Bootcamp is,,,take a long logging chain or tow strap. :biglaugh:

My cousin and I went in 07. A great and rare opportunity you will chersish for life.
email sent
I'm assuming the information would apply to big woods areas with low densities as well as farm country?
Thank you
Barry replied quite quickly. He mentioned that the second week is filling up! I have requested the first week and can't wait to go.
Martin
I'll be there the first week. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys in person.
TTT for Jeremy.
I am worried this will fill up before I get my info. Can someone p.m. me if they know what the cost is as this is the only thing stopping me from signing up. Thanks.
It's $895, second week is full. R W
Been wanting to attend one of these since they first started but wasn't able to make it happen. Was super bummed when Barry quit having them. Won't miss out this time; I will be there the second week.
Barry, thanks for putting it together!
