This evening i knocked the dust off of my old Rocky Miller Bridger Mtn. longbow that ive had for 20 yrs, or so and shot it as well as i ever have.
It seems that sometimes we get caught up in all the glitz and glamor of our new bows, that our old standbys that never let us down, which we carried for many a hunt, get put on the top shelf and are retired from service simply because something new took its place which was all the rage at the time.
If your like me, and hung onto a bow for that many yrs., theres probably a good reason for it, which is not measured in looks, or monetary value but in fact, how it feels and performs in your hands.
If youve got a dusty old friend on the rack that you havent shot for quite some time, dust it off and stretch a string on it, you might find that it can be a great reunion with an old friend.

Rocky made outstanding bows: Been looking for an early 1990s Heritage recurve in an old man weight of 55- to 60- pounds. Occasionally see one but generally too heavy.
His long bows are really nice, too.

I love Rocky's bows, drug my Bridger Mountain longbow out on Sunday. I was helping a father and son with a couple of selfbows they were building when the discussion turned to grip styles and what type of grip/shape works best. Never figured out why, but I have always shot lights out with that bow and the handle/grip has a lot to do with it.
