I shot my first Trad deer Monday at the last half an hour of legal light. I've only been shooting Trad since this time last year. I've put in alot of hours shooting in my backyard and had some missed opportunities leading up to this deer. I set a rule for myself that no matter how fustrated I got I'd only carry my recurve into the woods and leave my compound at home. And that's what I did. I love this stuff. :bigsmyl:

That one you will forever remember. Congratulations for sticking with it.
Thanks everyone. Yes it took alot of will power to not take the "wheels" out in the woods. But it was a goal I set for myself and wanted to accomplish it. Yes I am hooked and it is very addictive. In the last 2 months I've already bought 2 longbows. And one of them i'm already modifying with adding copperhead skins. The other Mike at Maddog is still making.
I felt so good, like a "kid before christmas" walking up to her. No tracking needed as I watched her drop less 30 yds from impact. Immediately I got on the phone and called my dad to tell him. Yes I'm 35 yrs old and a father of 3 and I still called my dad to tell him since he had me bow hunting at the age of 13.
congrats
Awesome! Keep at it!
