Title: Bear Weather Rest and riser cut???
Post by: PeteA on January 01, 2013, 12:21:00 PM
Been thinking about changing from off the shelf to a Bear Weather Rest. I've read a number of posts here and elsewhere about a considerable increase in accuracy and arrow tunability with the Weather Rest. A member of our hunting crew just switch his long bow to a weather rest and was shooting quarter sized groups at 15 yards right off the bat. So here's my question, does the cut of the riser matter when installing a weather rest? I'm shooting a Predator Hunter, 46@28. These bows are cut so that when you affix the suppied Velcro rest material to the bow they then measure as cut to center.

You should have no problem with a weather rest on your bow. I would try to get it as close to the shelf as you can, even if you have to cut it down a pinch. You may have to go up or down a bit in point weight but I think you be impressed!
