Title: Rod Jenkins clinic 2013
Post by: swampdrummer on January 01, 2013, 06:27:00 AM
Starting off the new year right. I've got Rod scheduled to come back down May 4-5th, 2013.

This will be the third time I've had Rod down for his clinic. Not because I'm a slow learner(well, maybe)But, because he is just that good of an instructor!

Rod was the 2004 IBO world Champion in the traditional class and one of the stars in Masters of the Barebow 3. Rod will bring his no-nonsense approach to shot execution and control with the traditional longbow and recurve. Topics to be covered in the 2 day clinic are;

1 Introduction of 7 steps to excellence program

2 Individual shot analysis and correction

3 Formaster training

4 Practice drills to reinforce the 7 steps

5 Strengthening the mental game

6 Aiming methods discussion

7 Question and answer session

The date will be May 4-5th 2013
Looking to hold this clinic on my property in Venus Fl. Venus is in the middle of no where, which puts it in the middle of everything. Its about an hour and a half from both coasts, depending on where you are coming from.30 miles south of Sebring.
If folks are coming in from afar the closest airport would be Fort Myers. Second closest would be Tampa.
Lots of other things to do in the area as well. Fisheating creek offers great canoeing and camping. Lots of places offering outfitted hog hunting. Lake Okechoobee is less than an hour away if big bass is your thing.
Plenty of room on the property for camping.Big oak hammock. Fire pit available. Can probably even get smaller RV's in there but don't have any way to get power to them. Would have to be generator.

Theres also several motels just up the road in Lake Placid.I can provide their info if needed.

We will be having a wild game feast/potluck Saturday night as well. Wild hog,Venison. Who know what else. For those that have attended before,I can almost bet I can convince Erica to make her Key Lime Pie.

The cost is $225 per person and we would need a minimum of 10 people. Max of 12.

Send me a PM or email to get signed up.

Thanks!
Brad

Helen and I attended the last Jenkins weekend at Brads..after some hands on instruction from Rod I started reaching full draw,I added almost a full inch to my draw length. Brad and his wife have a  beautiful piece of property and are excellent hosts. The key lime pie alone would be worth the trip...

Without doubt the best money you will spend in archery ...

It turned a bunch of meddling archers here in Oz, rife with form troubles and target panic into confident , accurate hunting and competitive archers .

Wish we had Rod here every year .

I have been hunting and competing with bows and arrows of all descriptions for 30 years and coaching quite a few archers myself , and can honestly say that I wish I'd spent less money on bows , less time practicing incorrectly , and more time getting on a plane and getting Rod to help me out .

My trophy cabinet would need an extension and most importantly , my freezer space would need to be doubled ...

Don't believe me ? Maybe check out that Sturgis fella ......

Ralph, ya just need to take one of them irons out of the fire and come on down!
Thanks for the kind word Robert. Think you just garrenteed that Key Lime pie will be on the menu   :D

It is pretty amazing isn't it Ben? The folks that have attended in the last 3,4 years have had nothing but positive things to say. The ones that do the work afterwards, Their shooting improves leaps and bounds!

If you want to get better........go to this clinic. Attending Rod's clinic is the single best thing I have ever done to improve my shooting of traditional bows!

Yep, the cost of the clinic, travel, and an overnight stay is cheap.  Hands down the best money you'll spend in archery.

Sounds good Bill. Let me know as soon as you can cause I'm filling up pretty quick this time around.

Folks, here is proof the Rod's methods work. Fred, (the gentleman in the middle) attended the first clinic I held in 2011(?) Fred had very little experience shooting a bow of any kind but he attended the clinic. Did the work afterwards and it paid off big for him last fall. Congrats Fred!
