Just in case anyone notices anything.....
I bought a brand new 150 quart cooler as my other two coolers finally gave up the ghost.
This cooler wasn't for ice....but my hunting gear.
It was packed with arrows, knives, Wenzel flash lights, and my normal hunting cloths....merino wool thermals, and Grey Wolf wool pull over,
Gray Wolf wool Pants, my cold weather boots, broadheads, Classic Bowman wool ****, Two Tracks wool vest, wool socks, Custom hat made by Curt and Cade, custom TG arm guard, and Danny Rowan's brothers broadhead. ...and lots of memories.
The cooler was duck taped and strapped both, and the UPS label was taped over so it wouldn't come off, had my name and cell number written on it in EIGHT places....was loaded on the truck here at my plant, and was never scanned at the Dalton terminal 16 miles up the road.
IT IS LOST!!!!!! Yep, lost between here and the terminal...
Least that's what UPS is manager is telling me.....And, I have a business account with them and know a lot of them up there.
How do you lose a 150 quart cooler half the size of a casket???....how come no one called the number written all over the cooler???
Me thinks somebody stole it.
************
That was friday....and no word this AM like UPS told me it should be scanned. So, after talking to one of my friends at the terminal, it looks like my cooler was indeed stolen. That's even UPS gut feeling.
So, if anyone sees a cooler such as this with black writings....or anyone toting or pawning any of the contents, please let me know.
Thanks.....I gotta get busy trying to gather up enough stuff to get me through the hunt. Don't have 'back up' wool clothing....and word is its gonna be in the 20s while I'm there....
Anyhow, maybe the thief needs it worse than me.
Drivers responsibility. probably meth heads. hope you get it back. check the roadway(on the sides) you never know. I would ask them what the stops were from your plant to the station and check the route myself. 16 miles is not that far.
I'm sorry that this terrible misfortune has come to your door "T".
I wish you the best in finding it and all it's contents.
God bless,Mudd

Romans 8:38, There a reason just have to wait for it.
That sucks Terry! I will keep a good thought for you and pray your stuff is returned. Good luck getting through your hunt.
Bob.
Terry, hope you had insurance! what a great loss.keeping fingers crossed for you, that it shows up.
Don't know where your hunting, but if it's Michigan, I can get you fixed up with all you need for the hunt then just return it when your done.
Things that make you go "hummmm!" Hope it finds it way back to you.
I hope you find the contents, Terry. I had a package lost by UPS some time ago and it re-appeared about two weeks later after filing a 'lost package' ticket.
It would be nice if we could plant some sort of G.P.S. Beacon on our stuff while it's being shipped and see what Rat stole it or misplaced it...Then we could track that person down and :deadhorse: out of him/her/it :D
Terry if you need to borrow some wool to get through the hunt you're welcome to borrow some of mine.
man that sucks , If there is anything you need please let me know. Drew
Man, I'm sorry for your misfortune Terry. I do hope it turns up. But, like you, I find it hard to believe someone could just "misplace" a 150 qt. cooler!
I had a buddy this season load his truck with ALL his hunting gear to come down to hunting camp... the night before the season opener. He ran into the house to do a final "walk through" to make sure he hadn't left anything and when he returned, everything was stolen! I couldn't imagine how he felt.
So sorry to hear about this, Terry. I wish you good fortune in it's quick return.
Terry i am a driver at UPS and i will spell the "honest" beans for ya. YES it should have been scanned the minute it was put on the truck, does that allways happen??? NO it does not, that is the truth. this time of year is CRAZY for us and that is NO excuse. my guess is it is setting at the UPS building, it didn't get scanned and you will have NO info at all UNTIL it gets scanned which it will eventually. sadly it happens OFTEN, thats just the honest truth for you. if i can be of any service to you please let me know, i can tell ya the steps it takes to get answers. good luck.
What a big loss Terry, lots of priceless memories,I really hope it willshow up full, someway! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
How about a money order sent registered to a fellow TGer that just "disappears" once it lands in the US? That makes 2 in the last year. An envelope I can see, a cooler might be tougher to see go missing. Postal lady is absolutely NO help either. Don't mean to hijack but it is similiar and you are not the only one getting shafted.
Terry
Man, Terry, that is just awful.
Hate to hear that...hope it turns up.
Terry, I am sorry to hear this has happened to you. I hope all your items will be returned. I will say a little prayer.
Sorry this happened man.
If there is any gear you need shoot me a PM, i jave WAY too much gear, and your more than welcome to borrow any of it.
Thanks guys....I've about rounded up what will get me through the hunt....its just the personal thinks in the cooler that I want back....they can keep the arrows n bheads and flash lights.
Ken, I have a business account with UPS...have had for years...I have a preferred 800#...and know a half dozen drivers and a few that work at the terminal and I've talked to both drivers and terminal workers and managers Its not at the terminal.
Thanks again guys....just let me know if someone shows up wearing a fleece salad hat!!!
Sorry to learn about your personal loss T!
Hopefully, something good will come of it - even the recovery of the complete package with all of the memories!
Celebrate the Happy New Year with your family and count ALL of your blessings!
Shoot straight, Shinken
:archer2:
Wow that's a lot of stuff! Pray it turns up!
Someone named Larry Dix emailed me twice titled 'Missing Cooler' but when the email opens the page is totally blank.
No way for me to even reply to him....can't even figure out how to email him back as there is no email address available either.
No one at UPS by that name.
Terry, I've got an asbel XL wool pullover, almost a dead match to the fleece shirt in your avatar. Bought it 3 years ago in our St judes fund raiser have worn it maybe twice, don't care for it, been in a sealed tote for the last two years and not touched, if it will help keep you warm its yours, sorry to hear about the loss, let me know, seriously I will never use it, Todd
Many thanks Todd.....problem is UPS is off tomorrow and no way to get it there in time.
I'll make due....some of the guys on the hunt are gonna throw in a few extra items for me.
What a freakin MESS!!!!....but worse is the stuff folks made for me are gone....items I've hunted with for years....gone.
Terry, I used to work at UPS. I'm with adkmountainken. I bet it's sitting right alongside a conveyor belt in one of the hubs. I started out unloading the trailers at UPS. Sometimes the big packages were a pain to get on the rollers and got set on the side. It's a madhouse in the hubs this time of year,so hopefully someone will notice it at the end of a shift.
Good, luck. I have some XXL wool jackets here if you need to borrow any.
Nick
Sorry to hear about that Terry!
I had a UPS driver enter my attached garage today. Left the package by the door to the house in the garage Thought it was odd as they always leave it outside. I hope you at least get some answers. Good luck on your hunt!
Sorry to hear of your misfortune!!
Hope you find it.
Good luck to you Terry. Hope the cooler and its contents show up sometime soon.I'm about 2.5 hours north of Solana,TX. Its currently 43 degrees with a light drizzle. Wind out of the north. Could make for a miserable hunt without the proper apparel. Be safe and shoot straight. My best to all in attendance.
Bill Turner
Ovilla, TX
Best of Luck Terry! Hopefull it will show Up soon!
Yes....the pick up driver remembered picking it up....and the worker at terminal that put it on the trailer....both remember it and described it to a T...but the trailer never left that night like it was suppose to and was parked in the yard over night....and was told it was 'suppose' to be locked...they aren't sure why it wasn't picked up....my bows were on the same shipment in a tube and they are at the ranch.
Terry go to white pages.com and put Larry Dix in the search and your town. it will give you all listed people within the area.
That's terrible. Not the way to start the new year. I hope all is found.
I HATE THIEVES!!!!   !! I will keep a look out T!
Hey Terry, Sorry to hear this man.
FYI, Larry Dix is a member here. Username 'Caddo' Native Texican & a nicer guy you'll never meet.
Sorry for the foul up. Hopefully it was a mistake and it will turn up. Hopefully you will be paid back with a very safe and successful hunt.
No way any thief needs your stuff more than you.
Someone could rationalize that, I'm sure, but I don't buy it.
Sorry for your troubles. And the salad hat is gone.
But, you are going hunting. Gotta keep looking to the bright side. Have a good trip anyway.
I am sorry to here all this also,I really hope you get all of it back.
Sorry to hear this...What a shame...Hoping you get it all back.
That truly sucks. Had stuff stolen and it is horrible. Hope it turns out alright somehow.
Terry,
Hate you're having to go through this. I hope you are able to recover it all. I know you said you had it basically covered, but if there is anything at all you still need please let us know.
I hear ya about the hunt....but I would trade the hunt for all my personal stuff in a heartbeat. I even lost a knife made for me by Barry Clodfelter.
He won the St Jude Bear hunt I offered up in 2010 and right there in camp, around the fire the 1st night on little Bald Mt, he gave me a knife he made me for hosting the hunt. I remember exactly where I was sitting when he gave it to me. A total surprise to me, but what a gesture......that's the kinda stuff I'm talking about.
Sorry to hear about this Terry.Hopefully it will show up sometime soon.
All I can say is that BITES! Have fun at Solana.
I'm sorry Terry and sure hope all gets worked out.
My sympathies on the loss. Getting stuff stolen stinks.
I have a 120 qt cooler and if you are a 32" waist and size large jacket, you are more than welcome to use my Grey Wolf Woolens outfit.
Ray
Thanks Sixgun, but I"m a 34 and the wool pants are 36 for underlayers.....looks Like Grey Wolf will be getting the majority of my insurance money from UPS.....then the Merino Smart Wool thermals, and socks.,,,then the Wenzel Flashlights.
I've got plenty of arrows left.....and the other none replaceable is just that.
Terry I'm sorry this happened,I know some of the stuff stolen was irreplacable,I'm glad ups will cover some of the loss but it's a shame the more personable items that can't be replaced were lost.I hope whom ever stole them will have a change of heart and return them to you.
I'm not a very aggressive person but if there is one thing that makes me absolutly fighting mad its a damn theif. They need the feaking crap beat completly out of them. I hate to hear that Terry..I really do. I wish there was some way I could help. Keep your fingers crossed maybe it will turn up in a day or so.
Terry,
Very sorry for your loss! Hopefully, it will show up yet, even if not in time for the hunt. I am sure it is frustrating and a great disappointment to think so many valuable items, either price or sentimental value, may be gone forever. In the end, it is stuff.
You can still hunt, hold a loved one, and serve as adminstrator for Trad Gang! I will say a prayer your cooler shows up but am thankful you are okay otherwise. May you have a successful hunt, enjoy the moment, and create more great memories! Who knows? Maybe your cooler will be there when you return?
Oh, man, sir. I hope they find it and get it to you soon. Stuff can be replaced, but memory-makers like the blade are not to be found in a catalog.
I had an order sent to me sent to me on 12/6 by a sponsor. It went UPS, and they did not scan it once. It could not be tracked at either end, and it was insured. I finally the sponsor and had put a tracer on it after eight days, no luck. So they sent a second order USPS on the 12/19. The first order arrived later on 12/19 and the seoond order shortly after the first.
I think they were so busy over the Holiday, they forgot to scan packages with insurance. It may still show up. Good luck.
Terry,
Hopefully it will Turn Up. I had a bow shipped with them that was missing for 2 weeks. then one day it scanned in syracuse out of the blue. Of course they accidentally sent it back and forth a few times before delivery, so after 3 weeks I finally received it.
Its a bummer about the irreplaceable items. Hopefully dealing with them with your corporate account will make them want to make it right for you in short order.
I hope you stay warm on your hunt.
Good Luck on all accounts.
Terry I fully understand about the about those special items that just cant be replaced.I hope lady luck will smile on you in the form of a big cooler one day at your doorstep.
that makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it..
I know a certain guy who dropped off a set of big moose antlers and skull for shipping home. About 3 MONTHS later they arrived, none the worse for wear. The mystery of what happens to one out of tens of millions of packages....
I used to work for the USPS and there was a package that was mailed out for Christmas. I got it in May to be delivered. It had fallen off a conveyor belt and was found when they did a spring cleaning. There is still hope. Yes it sucks, but it really was a minor lost compared to what some people have lost this past year. Everyone have A Happy and Healthy New Year!!!!!
Hope you get all your stuff back, good luck on the hunt. :campfire:
"Maybe the thief needs it worse than me"
That's a pretty calm way to think about it. Not so sure I could feel the same way. I'll be praying for it and it's contents safe return.
Losing something while hunting, giving it to a friend both are easy to accept. A theft just makes one feel violated. Sorry for your loss
Son of &*()_dang, good luck T...marco
Terry,
I sincerely hope that UPS finds the Cooler with the contents in place. Its hard to replace stuff that has great sentimental value as well as having value. Lets hope that this cooler comes back to you and that the year gets better for you.
Tom
Terry
Did UPS check any security surveillance camweras that were active that night? Maybe you will get lucky and locate the thief.
Tom
If it was a thief, I hope they cut themselves real good on the broadheads.
UPS lost a bow I had shipped once. I received the empty box, which they had broke the end off of. They found the bow a few days later in a warehouse. Undamaged.
Hopefully they've just misplaced your stuff and it turns up soon.
I'm sure the thief is a pinko, commi, thumb-sucking bed wetter....
I am so sorry to hear of your misfortune Terry. Hopefully it will show up somewhere.
Sorry to hear about this! Any updates?
Update....
Terry said his cooler showed up @ Solana just before the hunt was getting started! :clapper:
Good for him ,now he probably has two coolers of clothes to ship back.
Very Good News!
Cool deal
That is fantastic!!
UPS doesn't like to lose packages, and when they do they turn into bloodhounds.
Terry, if you have too much hunting gear now I know a fella in Tampa, FL that would be happy to give some of it a home. ;)

Nice to hear a happy ending to this one!
Great news. Now he can relax and enjoy his hunt.
Excellent! Sure to make the week more enjoyable.
That's awesome! Thanks Curt for posting the updated great news!
That's great to hear.
This is truly a great place (although I've only been around for a nano second of it). It makes me glad to hear and see everyone rally around another person, when life has handed them lemons.
Everyone here is really a class act. Bravo guys!
Ray
Yea for Terry! :-) :-) :-)
Glad to hear the good news.
Great news! Glad to hear that all turned out well.

 :deadhorse:
What a great update, Guru! That is so refreshing. Today I had very bad news about a Gang friend battling for his life and not doing well, and then great news that cherished objects that were never processed properly by thee ill-fated UPS, finally showed up for Terry!
Good to hear!!!!!!
UPS comes through. Good deal. Like one of the guys said earlier it probably just was not scanned.
That's awesome, does their insurance cover mental anguish, pain and suffering? Just glad the stuff showed up, I'm sure it is making his hunt much more enjoyable. And just for the record, good on all the folks out there offering up stuff to make sure his hunt went on as planned.
Fantastic, Terry! Good to hear!
Amen.
Shoot straight, Shinken

Terry,
As Rob mentioned, Larry Dix is Caddo -I'm sure you shared camp with Larry back in Sweat days. He'll be on some military base working so the unknown address is probably cause it's a secret! Glad to hear all your gear showed up. Now get fillin that cooler up. You gonna wear all that stuff home if you fill the cooler? I'd like a picture of that as you approach Homeland Security with that salad hat on.
Glad to hear you got your goodies !!!
Great news. Would hate to think Terry would have to hunt without his infamous salad hat. Good luck to you my man, and all the other TG members chasing them at Solana. :clapper:
Glad to hear the good news!
Glad Terry got his stuff back! That would have made a lesser man curl up in the fetal position and cry like a baby.
Would've me anyway! :D
Jason
Glad to hear you got your stuff back. That sort of thing would've drove me crazy for a long time to come.
:clapper:
Terry I bet you feel better! :bigsmyl:
