I've been here when I should have been there....right place wrong time, wrong place right time...I've helped friends track, I've helped friends drag,...I just hadn't had my time yet...I've seen em rut, seen em close, seen em ... just no shots.
The woods were making me wait this year for my time to come when I could loose an arrow. Not to worry I've seen some great things foxes, hawks, birds of every kind. Just waiting, watching and wondering when things would come together for me. Tonight the woods decided it was my time to be given an opportunity

Sweet sight!
She was with a small family group following a trail along a field about 80 yds out that wouldn't offer a shot. A small buck took a run at her and she left the group an came into the woods angling towards my stand. As she hits the trail that will bring her to with in 5yds of my tree she decides to leave the trail to browse on some green briar. At 22yds I give her a whistle as she can't hear my bleats in the wind. I watch as the arrow arcs on a journey of purpose. It takes her right through the heart in a flash. A 600 grain arrow with a two blade Zwickey Delta. She makes it 50 yds and falters. She then disappears behind a log....
How i found her

I don't post much anymore, but your post is what "it is really all about"....When the cold north wind blows, and there's chili or stew bubbling on the stove, what could be better?
Congratulations, you done good....really good. I like your attitude too!

Love my stews on days like that with a big buttermilk biscuit and a big old glass of milk!!! Thanks for all the kind words guys, sorry I didn't get on here sooner, a couple days in the wind and cold caught up with me and I've been thrown in the bed. Thanks Joe

FANTASTIC!!!!
It can all come down to one good arrow....when your "time " does come, you gotta be able to put your arrow where it needs to be.
All the scouting, and waiting, and freezing, and sweating. The tuning, the sharpening, the thousands of practice shots.
A Zwickey thru the heart...
Heartfelt congrats!
