Since developing a growing passion for original 50's bows, i was curious how many of you folks hunt with or shoot'em? :campfire:
We still shoot my Dad's 1958 Alaskan, he started with it in 58, my uncle around 60, me in 79, and my brother around 82. I still hunt and shoot my Granddad's 62 Kodiak.
A couple years ago I hunted with my '59 Grizzly
Here's my '52 Bear Grizzly in action.

I finished this season out with a bear cub. Didn't see anything though. Now onto bunnies. Will try the picture thing when I connect.
Bert that is one cool picture that buck is a hog!!
Late '50s Grizzly, Kodiak and Alaskan. They all shoot great, unfortunately, I haven't had a good shot yet this season to prove it.

Bert, that is one dandy Buck! and to have taken it with a '52 Grizzly is just awesome!

Nope, but a bear from the 50's is on the wish list!
Woah Bert that is awesome :-)
Dang Bert, you guys grow some Bruisers up there!
I use my 56 Kodiak sometimes, I like it because it is the same age as me.
Bert that pic gets me......awesome...as you know Bert, I have a 58 Kodiak that I have yet to hunt with....but would love to post a success story like that....love them old bear bows.... And Bert is a bowyer and makes 50 style recurves as well that are awesome..... like alot of people say...them old BEARS have a soul....
My 59 "Broken Heart" gets out in the woods quite a bit

The name "Broken Heart" comes from a badly damaged purpleheart sight window which Bowdoc repaired in the Restoration 101 thread here on TG

I love them 59r's! One of these days.... I gonna have me one!
Gotta love the old Bears!

I have an old 50s Hoyt that hits like a hammer. Sweet 66" recurve.
Sporthunter, love to see a pic of your 50's Hoyt, sounds like an awesome old classic!
Here you go Moleman. The two bows pictures are the old #44@28", 66" Hoyt and a '56 Kodiak #50@28", 60" for comparision. The Hoyt is sleek, smooth and fast.
