Hello Gang,
a bit of a question/poll of sorts. I have my Vixen and J Hill tuned up shooting their arrows with FP and BH good right now, but since there is snow on the ground and its cold I decided to play with the spine calculators today.
after putting in the info on the calculator for my Vixen and my 2117s it shows that they are way weak. I also put in the CX Heritage shaft that I have tuned up and it shows way weak also. I have cut down one of the Heritage 150s to what the calculator shows should be perfect and the arrow flys crazy.
My question to ya'll is.... Do the Spine calculators seem to be spot on for you or not?
I really think they are a guide to go by. somewhere to get you going more or less

is your bow shelf 1/8" past center?
Hill style bows are usully 1/8" +
Eric
The spine calculator is for me not accurate,it's just a indication .
With some bows I use arrows with the spine dynamic 6# to 7# higher than recommend the spine calculator and with some other bows 7 to 8 pounds lower.
Try you arrows without feathers before cutting somethink :archer2:
westbrook,
the Vixen is cut 1/8th" BEFORE center. So I assumed that was negative, zero was center and positives were PAST center. I have not used a calculator before and was playing around. Please correct me if I put that in wrong.
You need to change that center measurement to +1/8". That will make a HUGE difference.
+(plus) is outside of center, -(minus) is when your bow is cut past center.

Thanks
