No, I haven't shot a deer yet this season. Been shooting trad exclusively this season so far, but alas still have the @#$%%#$ bow I bought a good while back sitting in its case collecting dust..been considering selling it once and for all to have a 100% trad household, LOL. Well, after milling around thinking about it I finally discovered the proper motivation...
I'm going to buy my wife a mandolin!!! She's a music therapist and its an instrument she's always wanted to learn to play and she has always lamented the cost of one. She's birthing our first child soon and she deserves a gift. I considered jewelry, she doesn't really want that. Been wracking my brain trying to come up with a good idea. WELL! I remembered the dang mandolin! She'll never see it coming and I know her, she'll love it! She'll be so excited to learn to play for her patients...and our new baby girl!!!
GOODBYE WHEELIE!
Sounds good to me! And she does deserve it, good job!
 :clapper: :clapper:
Way to go! I still haven't parted with my wheelie (too many memories) ;)
Congratulations on becoming a parent! Your wife will love the mandolin! The best gifts
are the ones someone put some thought into.

The boss lady is worth it, Chuck!!! You'll never regret making her smile!!
Awesome idea for a gift! Take it from one who plays and sings, with the desire to learn, the gift of music will bring her a lifetime of enjoyment.

Thanks guys. We are sooo excited to welcome our new baby girl. She's due this coming Feb. 14- Valentine's Day!
Can't go wrong with those plans!!! Congrats all the way around!!
Chuck,You'll definately build some brownie pionts !LOL. No big deal getting rid of the wheels. Not much to think about ,a beautiful Mandolin to make your wife happy or a Wheelie frustrating you LOL Well done.
Best use for one I've ever heard!
Hope this "swap" brings a lot of great memories.
Congrats on the coming baby!!!
Sounds like a great reason to let it go, congrats on the coming baby!
:clapper:
Music lasts a lifetime, I wish I had started at an EARLY age, but never have ............... congratulations with the decision AND the new baby!
Great beginning of a new year! :clapper:
Thanks guys, we're a very musical family lol. She plays guitar and piano for the baby belly all the time.
I would sell the one I still have left but it's not worth anything........selling yours to get the wife something she's wanted sounds like a good idea!
One thing I learned from living 50+ decades, If she is not Happy, than neither are you! Very Cool to make it HER Day!You will reap much from that single seed! Best Wishes!
Well done Sir!!!!
Very good! She will certainly appreciate your thoughtfulness. Also, raising kids (and grandkids) is the most fun hobby you can get into, especially when they can follow you afield. Congratulations.
I can't wait to order her first 24" 8#@10" hot pink r/d longbow for the new little sprout when she's old enough!!!
Dudenbostel makes a pretty good mandolin...
I still have 2 of the Dern things to get rid of!! Can I ask ya how you unloaded yours? Another Site? Local Classifieds?? Got my eyeball on Another LongBow and would like to get some Working Capitol to Bargain With!!
Thanks for the mandolin tip Archie
Shakes- Havn't got it unloaded yet, hence thread titled "selling"...I've got it listed over on Archerytalk, not having much luck the bozos over there are 'cheap', lets just put it that way, but I know wheelies are a dime a dozen.
Anyway, enough about that I don't wanna flag the thread, lol
Good luck on your 'unloading' dead weight, LOL Much luck in your search for more LB's
Yeah, great tip! Just what everybody needs... a $10K mandolin... if you get a cheap one!
I just have a Morgan Monroe, but hardly even play it anymore. I spend my free time practicing with my longbow, at the expense of my mandolin-playing.
Nice way to purge the wheels out of your life! Oh! And congrats on the forthcoming new family member!
What a great husband.... You are doing the right thing! You will not regret this decision on several levels. Congrats on becoming a Papa!
