Ace Spine Master
Still using an old Adams from some years ago. It does a good job.
Take care of them. They be expensive nowadays!
Keep them where they can't get dropped, bumped, or or anything dropped on them, and they will last forever. Olebow
Ace Spine Master
Here is where I got the idea for the one I made- I got the dial inducator and stand from harbor freight $15 and made the frame from scrap wood instead of metal- works great.

"CupCake" a guy from "TradGang" is making them. He's selling them on the Sponsor's Classifieds page. This is one of the Finest testers I have ever seen. Check his Tester out......Mark
If you want a real nice spine tester, you got to check out "CupCake" in the Sponsor's Classifieds page.
Made one from plans published in Archery Magazine, I believe, in the '50s. Works fine.

Homemade dial indicator type. You just need some scrap wood, a pair of L-brackets (or more scrap wood), a dial incidator, and a weighting contrivance that weighs 2 pounds. (A big bolt and washers will work.) You might tie up $30 in parts. It's not fancy, but it works well. I almost with I hadn't made one since it makes it too difficult to justify spending a couple hundred dollars on a fancier needle and guage arrangement, LOL!
If you want a cheap one make it your self,If you want a good one that will last forever and looks good check out your sponsor's. (CupCake)
First one built from plans by 2Jays, then I bought one from Ace (Spine-Master, model 203). Both work equally well, but the Ace is much smaller.
Can someone tell me Flite-Rite`s web page.
Thanks Bue--.
CupCake Does Make a Fine Instrument!! My Piggy-Bank isnt Quite there Yet!!

Thanks. Well, well, prices go up.
I bought the professional model(I think that was the only model made then) from Alan Rothar years ago for about 240 dollars. It has served me well for years now. Bue--.

for those of you that use a "Flight Rite", do you use the Hobbyist? or the Professional?
???
I would love to get my hands on a flite rite professional or an old scheib, but I don't have no 700.00 to spend on a spine tester. I have a ACE wall mount but want a professional if someone wants to work out a payment plan. Flint
Here's the one I made based on Jim Hill's design. Very accurate, cost was pretty much FREE since I had most of the stuff in my shop that I needed to build it.
No complaints other than it is pretty big (coulda made it smaller and lighter)
