I've always gotten on very well with my Dad but we never really shared any hobbies - since I hate golf and he isn't the best Muay Thai kickboxer or Wrestler around... But since I got myself into archery a few months ago I decided to buy him a bow for his birthday. I picked him up a 35# Samick Sage and we finally got down to the range today, he absolutely loved it.
Was great to shoot with the old man (and put him in his place when he got too cocky and challenge me to a shoot off, haha) Nothing like a bit of father and son time.
So any sons on here shoot with their dad, or any dads on here shoot with their sons? How is it... and who's better? (according to you of course)
glad you had a great time, merry christmas. :archer: 5
I shoot with my fifteen year old son most days, often in the basement at night while watching TV. It has really honed his form and I wouldn't trade those times for anything. The other night I hit ten ping pong balls in a row, at ten yards. So far I can still take him.
I gave my 42 year old son my favorite bow and arrows, roving quiver in Jan but due to my injury this year haven't been out much together. I do get to shoot with 5 grandchildren a few times per year though.
His family and I are giving his two daughters archery equipment for Christmas so hopefully they will find time to shoot.
