How do you hold your arrow on bow if you don't one of the conventional holders on your bow. Got any pictures?
No pictures but I have taken a 1 inch piece of feather and glue standing up on the outside edge of the shelf, Be sure and orient so that the feather lays down when the arrow passes.
Similar topic, but maybe no good if you are looking for something more permanent.

Have saw where some folks drill a hole in the back of the riser and install a stainless steel pin then use a rubber band. Wayne did this to his bow, it looks nicel and Neet. I just haven't got up the nerve to drill a hole in mine yet.
I just use a rubber band and a toothpick. Loop the rubber band around the bow right over the arrow. Above the arrow towards the front and below the arrow towards the back. On the side of the riser opposite the shelf, put one end loop of the rubber band through the other and put the tooth pick through that loop. When a deer comes I just pull the tooth pick out and the rubber band goes flying. If I'm just done hunting for the day I hold on to the rubber band and toothpick and slide the arrow out from under the rubber band. I leave it on the bow for the next hunt. I carry a few extra bands and toothpicks.

These arrow holders are easy to make and work greaat.They are mounted vertical in the pic when not in use but hunting they would be mounted horz.

Kip, is that leather attached with Velcro?
Looks like it would work well and be easily adjustable.
I was lucky enough to find several HEAVY rubber bands at a garage sale.I cut one into two pieces..each about 2.5" long.On one end,I took a
scrap of aluminum shaft a little smaller than my hunting shafts and with a hammer punched a hole about 3/4" from the end.Cut from tip of band to punched hole so you can insert your hunting arrow.
I used velcro to attach to back of riser at a distance
where band held arrow firmly but released after you began draw.Be sure to clean band and bow with alcohol to promote adhesion.Works great and this West Texas wind hasn't dislodged it once.Finding the industrial strength band was the hard part..but I did see a source just last month at local farm supply house in equine section.Sorry I don't have pics.Look at any of the rubber ones and you'll get the idea.

Ron those 3-pointed rubber band holder are T.V. junk console plastic with a wood grain finish and velcro on plastic and on riser.Kip
I have one of Kips arrow holders and it works great.Very solid and simple.
This method works for me -- I take the the index finger of my left hand and bend it slightly to for a "C." This is then placed over the arrow, with some downward pressure (my force scale is broken, so I'm guessing about 0.10 pounds of pressure?). When I'm ready for my shot, I straighten out said index finger, and then bring it back inline with my other fingers (on the bow handle). It's effective and cheap (just look around, most of us come with index fingers). If you're a left handed shooter, do the same but with opposite fingers, and your index finger will bend to look like a backwards "C."
In all seriousness -- great info here. You guys that use the rubber bands, when they fly off are you worried about any noise they make when they hit leaves or branches? I might have to try this out.
On several of the models the rubber band,stays with the holder.
When I used the match stick type it could be a problem and you needed a new rubber band if you drew.
