Hi gang,
Just received my order from BW and with it came a Sur Grip.
Haven't tried it yet but I'm guessing I'll have some struggle ahead to install it.
Any pointers??
Diogo, I have put one on a Black Widow once before. Use some baby powder and roll the grip on. It will still take a good bit of work.
Thanks Allen,
Will it stay in place with the baby powder? Won't it slip after? Did it make a difference to you, that grip?
Reminder that I haven't tried it yet, just getting some home work done before...
Put a piece of small diameter, but strong rope under it. Tie a knot leaving it just big enough to get your foot into it. Use your foot to work it on one side, and then another. You may think it won't go, but it eventually will. I found it easier to roll over a limb first, and onto the riser. Of course it may shoot fine for you without the grip.
buckracks7, it get's a little slip sometimes. I tend to sweat a little bit on the hand.
I'll try, thanks.
I have a PCHV low wrist grip and I put a Posi-Grip on it and I really like it. It takes patience and a little elbow grease.
I have put a couple onto PSA risers. First roll it up to a donut shape, then like buckracks said put it Over limb and slide it down, then put a thin rope between bow and sure grip or just fold bow stringer over and use It to stretch and pull grip over the riser, once in place just under the arrow shelf pull rope out and unroll sure grip..Vernon at Black Widow can put one on in about one minute..
Robert, if I understood right, you rool it from the top limb?
Seems easy!!
Diogo, in my experience they will move a little over time no matter what, but it's very little. I just had to pull it back in place every once in a while.
I really like shooting with a ribber grip. I guess it's a personal thing.
I have one on all my bows,I have a brand new PMAX,I just made sure it was warm and rolled it from the bottom limb like a doughnut.
Good Luck.
I put one on a pch and yes is was a pita but I sure like the grip. The only downfall is it covers up the beauty of the riser
I put one on my Tomahawk legacy series which has a rather large riser. I was able to just roll it up into a donut and eventually got it in place. I would not use baby powder as it would make it slip around a little. I have never had any issues with mine slipping out of place the way I do it.
BHP It's been a few years since I put one on.. I used the rope to stretch the rolled up sure grip around the thicker parts of the riser...not sure about top limb..but if the riser is thinner there then that's what I did..I started using leather bow saddles from 3Rivers or Tennis racquet wraps on my bows. The bow saddles are good but the sure grips work well with sweaty hands
