My hunting is pretty much done for the year due to Holidays, family and a couple other unforeseen things that have popped up until Feb., when i plan on attending the Hill Gang Hog Hunt.
Even though im pretty much done hunting till Feb.,getting things ready for the hunt is almost as enjoyable as the hunt itself, building and tuning shafts, sharpening broadheads, tuning in a new to me bow ETC. for me are a huge part of the fun of Trad. archery as well as the hunt.
How many others enjoy the preparation for hunting almost as much as the hunt itself? :campfire:
Deer season always wears me out! I can't wait to sleep in and build some arrows in my PJ's. ;)
The preparation is a major part of the fun; making arrows, stump shooting, watching wildlife and enjoying the great outdoors for the pure joy of it is very fulfilling, without the pressure of filling tags. But, I'm already looking forward to spring, with turkeys and a spring bear hunt looming.
Preperation's what makes me dream. :)
Robert Lewis Stephenson said :"To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive, and the true success is to labor."
I love the planning, the preperation. Buying and assembling gear, practicing.
Another saying I have used repeatedly: "Nothing spoils a good hunt like success."
I couldnt agree more, there comes a point in every hunting season where im ready to be done, Then I get to begin prepping for the next season.
Was out this morning for a last hunt of the season, and had to build a couple more ground blinds for next fall.will put a trail camera out in a couple weeks to see what made it,and start scouting for next year,Just great to be able to enjoy the trad thing and the outdoors.Looking forward on making up some new woodies when its nasty out there.
