With Christmas almost here, I thought this would be an appropriate time to announce my Associate Sponsorship with a Tippit/Teaschner package.
Skinner with Teaschner sheath:
OAL 7 1/2 inches with a 3 1/4 inch blade. Hand forged out of an old buggy seat spring with a flared finger guard. The spring came from our town dump. It was so pitted and rusty from years of weather...but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I loved the texture and it was still good spring steel probably 5160 high carbon. Handle burl wood. Happy Holidays...tippit

WOW!!! One of your knives is on my dream list. Fantastic craftsmanship. :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Nice looking knife and sheath . you must spend a lot of time transforming those old rusty leaf spring into that great looking knife
That's recycling.

Very nice!!!!!

Lol ....sold. I barely got out of bed read the post. Checked the classifieds. And sold. Lol. That's the second time! Well whomever got it. Your gonna love it. Nice work gentlemen.
Doc. You mention it was a BUGGY seat spring.... What buggy may you be referring to?
Matty,
It was probably from a horse cart/wagon. They support the driver's seat...kinda like a double U shape as apposed to leaf springs from a car. Our town is a real horsey area. The old cart had probably been rusting and rotting in some one's pasture for years. Heck, it might have been Paul Revere's cart to haul all his silversmith wears. Now that I think of it, there were some silver streaks on that spring :)
PS: I'm still working on that Gaggle for you!
Very nice work!!!!
:goldtooth:
I know it sold already, but what kind of carry is that sheath for? It almost looks like a horizontal belt carry....my favorite!
Wow Jeff that's beautiful craftsmanship! I love it!
FamerMarley,
It is horizonal carry plus the back of the sheath is as nice as the front!
