Okay I will start.....
- I will try to buy NO new bows....
- I will try to buy NO new bows ...
- I will try to buy NO new bows...
- I will develop carbon arrows for my Peregrine 45 lbs. Moving over from wood to carbon. I want to end on 9 to 9,5 GPP. That is what is shoot with my two other bows with woodies. In this way I can switch easy. I have already 36 1535's in stock and some nice ideas how to achieve the 9 GPP.
- I will test my new set-up with a daypack and low-cost hipquiver. If I like that set-up, I will have myself a nice leather custom quiver made, with a sheath for my bowie and loops for my arrow-searcher.
- Did I tell already I won't buy new bows  ???
buy bows, shoot alot, hang out at the club. lots of hunting. same as last year I guess. If it aint broke dont fix it.
I'm going to learn the art of making beautiful wood arrows...
Practice, Practice, Practice...
buy bows, whats better than a new toy :)
shoot as much as the every day life allows.
And first of all: Having fun!
Finish bows and send to those I've promised I would....
The main focus of my archery intentions will be find some new hunting grounds as our area has been devastated by EHD and the DNR bioligist are saying 4 to 5 years to restore our area.
Then of course I will get some major stump shooting in while scouting!
I would have to say that if I could get out and explore some new hunting area's that show good potential for next years season I'd be very happy :bigsmyl:
Course, I've also got that stack of staves that I'd like to turn into some wonderful self bows too. I'd have to say that those two are at the top of the list, but...
I sure would like to go to Denton Hill this year!
1. Be thankful that I can still bowhunt.
2. Prep work on my lease to access some new areas.
3. Increase effective range to 30 yards to be more certain at 20.
4. Sell 4 bows & add two (Predator Riser, Rose Oak Ultra Delight Limited Edition).
5. With contacts and invitations I received last week if I don't finally moose hunt (Alberta or Alaska) this year, I probably never will.
Buy old bows for starter bows for the kids that won't to shoot ? And make arrows for them . And give them the gift of archery !! Like my dad did 35 years ago .
Similar to longbowray. I want to add some decent youth bows to my stable for my archery club at school. Would like to start giving one away to the club champ each year after our competition.
Get my two Grandsons shooting their new Black Rhino bows and taking them to 3D shoots with us. To get one of my new hunting friends into traditional archery hunting. To pick out a new recurve and have it built. Right now I am thinking about a Morrison with his new limbs.
To fine tune my setup then SHOOT, SHOOT, SHOOT. Lots of 3d and stumping. I hope to take my accuracy to the next level this year......in preparation for a moose hunt in the fall!!!
Add another 20 to 30 kids to archery.
I got to stop buying bows also, or at least keep a steady number once I thin the herd to the ones I always shoot.
Mainly though, I just want to put in as much dirt time hunting as I possibly can!!! Hunt, hunt, hunt! I would like to get in some Spring turkey hunting this year at a new property and maybe some blacktail hunting. Pig hunting is a given.
One of the main things I want to improve is my tracking and reading of the landscape. I've been practicing a lot, but there is so much to learn.
Of course, I'm gonna keep practicing on form so that when I get shot opportunities I will be confident.
For me I would just like to be able to be good enough of a shot to get a deer(preferably a monster buck), but I'll settle for a doe. And I am planning on taking a couple days off and going archery camping with my wife! Nothing like a few days in the wilderness shooting bows!
- shoot less 3D and care less about the score.
- scout more
- Bowfish more
- kill a turkey without a blind
Hopefully my archery intentions will be completed before 2013, but if not I got 20 days before the season's out in Jan. to try.
I've seen a bunch of real good bucks this season that I haven't had the right shot opportunity..opening. About 4 of them under 15yds.
Thankfully at least one and maybe the biggest of the bunch is still alive after gun season. I had him come by twice last wk.
I've got till Jan. 20th. 2013 to get one of them..and Good Lord willing..Oct., Nov. and Dec. 2013 if needed.
Just want (need) to spend more time in the woods in 2013... Lost my kid brother November 29th and needless to say, put my mind in an un-motivated place...
... mike ...
Sorry to here about the loss of your brother George. I will definately pray for you and your family. Spending time alone in the woods has always helped me in troubled times.
For me this next year I'd like to make more bows, get some others involved in archery, and just enjoy shooting and hunting.
1. Hit the 3D shoots with my wife and kids, 'cause they are SO MUCH FUN!
2. Get my oldest daughter on a turkey this spring.
3. First traditional harvest for me, hopefully at Solana Ranch in January!
I want to save a bunch of deer by killing a lion in Jan, Feb, or March.
-Spend more time hunting
-learn to make more of my own stuff
-improve my form and strength
Honestly though, I've been working on all of those since the end of deer season. That was kind of like my new year!
Keep working on form, take my first trad deer before this season is over. Introduce my friends to trad hunting, and get a 2nd job so I can buy some high quality equipment for my move to Montana
Call in a bear.Get a deer.
totally beat target panic and be in total control of my shot from start to finish
More time hunting, less time watching the news. I can't take it anymore.
Bison with a wood arrow
Black bear big enough for a half mount and the rest of the hide for a quiver
"Guide" another first time youth bowhunter and their parent
Grow bowhunting anyway I can
Accumulate more bonus points.
Do lots of Elk scouting next summer. Hunt Elk with my son and our friends in UT.
Find my wife a second job to help pay for our hunting.
I plan to shoot more so I can switch to the stick bow 100%. I also plan to scout more and hang a couple sets on the public land so I can sit in the morning more often. I'm not good at getting up in the dark silently so normally I only hunt the evenings.
I also plan to find some carbons that will shoot well out of my bow.
