Post by: mooshkat on December 11, 2012, 05:58:00 PM
From which point do you measure tiller from?  Back of shelf or deepest part of grip? Tried to call steve but cant get a hold of him. What is tiller on this bow, 7 5/8 ?   Thanks Dave

You're talking about brace height.  AMO measurement is  from the string to the deepest part of the throat.  Tiller is measured from the string to the end of the fade outs on the top and bottom limbs.  Sorry, I don't know what the brace height on your bow should be.

Yes sorry, i meant brace height,i was told brace height on this bow is 7 5/8in, but that measures from the back of the arrow shelf to the string, from deepest part of grip is 8in. Was just wondering if different bowyers measure from different areas.  Thanks  Dave

The correct brace height will be what it ends up after tuning for perfect arrow flight....with broadheads.........its not like tuning a car were there is a specific correct setting, it will vary with form, shaft material, shaft diameter, arrow weight, point weight, string type, etc,etc,etc.......where its at now is as good a place to start as any.......

got a hold of Steve, 7 1/2 from inside the grip to string, adjust to where it shoots quiet, for me it was 7 1/4 ". going to shoot thru paper tomorrow.

7 5/8 is perfect, shoots my woods and carbons the same, thou carbons seem to be quicker, very smooth and fast bow, love it.

Yes its 56", and its a smooth little screamer, it will be nice in the treestand, or maybe blind next year. Thinking of a hidden Hunter blind, kinda getting tired of all that involved in treestands.

I have mine right at 7" but I draw around 30" so I went a little lower to lesson the pressure on the limbs.
