Well here's the deal fellow trads. I bought a half dz. Carbon Express Devils Wrath arrows because the price was right. I know absolutly nothing about setting up carbons. These arrows are 50/60 spine which I figure should be good for my 50-53 lb bows.Questions: How much wieght should I use up front? Can I get an arrow nock that will fit my strings, as their set up for woodies?( string dia.would need to be smaller for carbon nocks }Would 5in. feathers work ok on this set up. These arrows came with plastic fletch so I figured Id' buy some cap wraps and re-fletch. Help if you can

Also, these arras are 9.9 gpi and I shoot about a 27in. arrow. Thanks everyone, I build and tune all my woods but have a lot of questions for the carbons.
Dave : the first thing I would do is throw any notions about length out the window. I would think you will need couple hundred grains up front to get these to fly . I use O.L. Adcocks bare shaft planning method , shoot three bare shafts against three fletched shafts to tune and let that determin length . Hope this helps. Drew

i've set those arrows up--i'd start @200g--you'll probably need more --and like drew says don't just cut them-tune to find your length [all carbons stiffen real fast when cut]and 5" will work fine but when well tuned you can use less fletch

either : set how much weight you want to use up front and start at full length, and tune from there cutting a little off at a time.
OR: if you want your arrows a set length (maybe you're a gap shooter?) cut them to that and be prepared to add lots of weight up front to soften them if required.
I subscribe to the bareshaft grouping with fletched arrows method, use this to add weight or subtract length until they all group together!
