Hello everyone on trad gang. im from long island NY. just recently purchased a 58# @28inch. Predator Classic recurve. Looking to get it tuned, and increase my accuracy so i can begin bowhunting. i have been trad shooting for about a year and a half but decided to dive in with a nice bow. i have been shooting from a high country sniper compound riser, with samick sage limbs bolted on it. this was my entrance into trad shooting but now i wanted to plunge in with a better bow, and get myself to the next level.
Here are some specs:
predator classic recurve 58# @28
i draw about 28 ever since working on my form, my arrows are cut 29 inch and half the fieldtip is on my riser haha.
i have gamegetter 400's but looking for carbons with a wood grain design to shoot for this bow. actually hoping i can find somone near me who can help me paper tune..
Anyways Hello ! :wavey:

Welcome!
Welcome from Dutchess/Westchester county!
thank you everyone! im excited to jump in and explore my inner trad bow self. i feel as if it is imprinted in our dna haha.. i will put some videos up as soon as i can. i just need new arrows! stuck between goldtip trad 55-75 and the CE heritage 250... just leaning towards heritage since ti have heard alot of inconsistincies with the goldtips. but i luv the look of the goldtip
Fish,, welcome and awesome bow... I shoot a Pittsley and for arrows theres many but I opt for the heritage mainly for price (Big Jim) and the overall the grain weight.
I never liked goldtips personally,,, you should try the Heritage 250's have them cut at least an inch longer than your full draw because nothing is worse than drawing back your first broadhead only to hit the back of the riser with the broadhead (my fathers version of the draw check)
first try stock inserts and with different weight heads to find the right spine, I think some folks sell test shafts and also field point test kits,, don't have them fletched just shoot them bare shaft out to 10yds while holding the bow perfectly verticle and tell us what they are doing and we'll get you set up perfect..
Welcome!
Welcome Fishburglar, this is a great place ... I have meet some of the finest people on the planet on this site. There is such a wealth of info here, from folks who really know what they are doing.
I think I watched a video on another post and you were shooting your bow ( Predator Clasic? ) at about 10 yards? Cool vid and good form if that was you. Nice bow by the way.
Bob.

Echoing the welcomes..... :archer2:

yea you just confirmed me with the 250, as Ron Pittsley recommeded them to me as well. i was looking at stu miller. with 29.5 inch shaft and about 175 grain but i will test and see. Awesome thank you! im excited to get my arrow setup perfect so i can work on my form and accuracy

Yes i am excited and already enjoying it. i wasnt so pleased with some other sites that end with talk haha..
yes i posted in the form section. it is a predator classic 60' that draws 58#@28inch. i beleive i am drawing about 28.. i have my 2117 aluminum cut to 29 inches and half my fieldtip is on my riser when i anchor. i have few things to work out on my form, thanks ! i really appreciate it. yes it was about 10 yards, about 12-14 steps. thank you on the bow! im in love with it its exactly what i wanted Ron Pittsley sure knows how to satisfy a customer.
Thank You for the welcome everyone!
Welcome aboard. Re your draw length. If your arrows are cut to 29 inches and half the field point is on your riser when you anchor, you're not drawing 28 inches, you're drawing closer to 29 1/2 inches. You'll want to cut your new arrows at least an inch longer than that, i.e., 30 1/2 inches to back of point. Good luck.

OMg! im shocked right now! my arm length when i check with a yard stick up to my sternum it reaches 26.5 and this has been my draw length with bad form. Ever since working on my form i have now a longer draw i wouldnt expect it to go that much of a difference. i expand my whole upper body and use my back i feel more "open" now when i anchor as compared to before. my shots "feel" different. and it feels great and more natural
Welcome to the Gang.
