Title: The Painted Bow
Post by: critman on December 06, 2012, 06:56:00 AM
Has anyone ever bought a bow that was painted and stripped off the paint to the natural finish? Which solvents did you use, do you have to refinish the bow afterward, what about fiberglass backed bow limbs? Any help here appreciated.

Yup, steel wool, mineral spirits and a lot of time and elbow grease to recover an old Red Wing that had been painted.  I didn't want to risk ruining the bow with any harsh chemical strippers that might attack the glue.
