I'm looking for pictures of the heavy leather plains style side quivers.
The ones with the hole in the tube shape to remove the arrows.
Any sponsors here supply these nice quivers?

This has become my quiver of choice because I can carry it as a back quiver, or use it off my right hip while stalking. And they are not hard to build. I'd be happy to coach you along the process.

Personally I'd prefer stitching over lacing though.

I'm fortunate to have one of KC's quivers. Top drawer leatherwork and plenty of adjustability to suit your size/clothing.
Like Stumpkiller....I understand the Plains style to be the flat type as he shows in the background in his photo.
I also have one of KC's stalker quivers (and a back quiver, pocket quiver and broadhead sheaths). Very high quality work, and heavy leather. KC is a great guy to deal with.

I made mine. Did not likee the closed tube, so i made an aluminum strap that is "C" shaped that can be adjusted to fully closed at the top or partially closed so I can just put the point in the quiver and the fletch end is in without backing. Quicker to use. The aluminum is sewen in between two pieces of leather so it is not obvious. Knife and file sheafs sewen on outside. My quiver looks like those pictured here, but mine is so much easier to put an arrow back in than those

First off, thank you very much for the kind words! I was not intending on high jacking this thread. I will be happy to share the pattern with anyone that wants it.
I would be happy to do a build along for this style of stalker quiver if folks would like it. I'm getting ready to have surgery so it may be a few weeks to a month before I can get all the pictures together and do a write up about it.
Brian, I like your build along and have never tried on of those quivers. But man you can sure do a great job of explaining and illustrating your instructions. As a warning, I have never done a build along but I would happy to share anything I know with anyone that wants to learn.
If the administrators would rather wait until I become an associate sponsor before posting the build along I have no problem waiting.

And guys i have known KC for many years since he took over being the manager of our local Tandys....he is very knowledgeable, and is a great guy so i am sure you would be happy with a quiver he made for you!
Matt... yep there is a big difference between a plains style quiver and the ones pictured. I cant remember the names of the books i have read on native american quivers but they are more for carring your arrows and not for quick drawing like the one that is open on the top. Just do a quick search online and you will see the difference.

Thanks Lance. I have 3 or 4 of the side stalker type quivers cut out. When I can find time I'll put together that build along.
I've received a couple of request for the pattern and am happy to mail them out, but be sure and send me the address you want it to be mailed to.
I like to use 8-9 oz latigo for the ones I build. Latigo is one of the toughest leathers and the best for outdoors use I know of.
For anyone that wants to build their own I have a pattern I will share and am available for questions and help along the way. Glad to help anyone wanting to build their own!
Off the topic, but here is a picture of a back quiver that I really like. The one with my initials on it is from a side of leather that came into my store branded like that. Right away I knew I had to build a back quiver! The other quiver is one I am fixing for a friend and am getting a pattern off of it in the process. ;)

Just so everyone knows I am not with Tandy any loner. On April 1st (no joke) they came in and "terminated my employmnent". I have NO hard feelings towards them and just want to get on with living as the song says.
