Title: take down verses one piece
Post by: Biggamefish on December 02, 2012, 06:49:00 PM
What do you guys think are better. I really want a new bow and love the striker Bows.   I want a long bow more towards the reflex deflex type. Striker makes a take down and a one piece. What is the difference in speed consistency in the two.

Personal preference... But since I don't ever travel out of state at the moment for hunting I prefer the looks of the 1 piece bows. Depending on brand I don't think there should be much difference in how they shoot. A little more mass in the TD if you want that though

Most of my bows are one piece, but I have several 2 or 3 piece bows that I use for travel. I prefer the 2 piece bows right now. Have the look and feel of a one piece with the convienence of a take down for travel.

Here are a couple of two piece take downs that Mike at Maddog made for me. Have him douing another for me now.

I used to not really be a fan of take down longbows at all. It wasn't because they didn't perform well, none just had the right look to them. You will be hard pressed to find major performance differences between a takedown and one piece bow. By the way I now love my Tomahawk Legacy series takedown.
