Title: Rifle case blunts
Post by: rcoulas on December 02, 2012, 12:12:00 PM
There was some interest in blunts made from rifle cases in another thread so I thought I would post some pictures of the ones I made. I used 7.62x39 cases but I think any .30 case would do. the ones I used where 120 grains. If you want them heavier you could use some lead shot. I expanded the case neck with a 38 special jacketed bullet and used a kinetic puller to remove it. It fits an 11/32 shaft perfectly, I then used some epoxy inside the case to fasted it to the shaft. I left the spent primers in the case to keep water and dirt out but if you use enough epoxy to come out of the flash hole it would work.

They are cool, I think the 357 cases fit 11/32 also. just have to make sure they are spent, wouldnt want a new primer in when you hit the target...lol

I was going to use .357 cases but they are very light and don't have much room to add weight.

I use a 100 grain glue ons and slide 38 cases over them.  Ends up right at 175 grains, which happens to be the weight broadheads I use.  God Bless

A 38 or 357 casing fits 11/32 perfectly. Drop a #4 split shot sinker inside and tamp in with a punch (I use a bolt) and a hammer 'til it smashes a bit. The end result weighs very close to 125gr.

The unweighted ones fly just fine though, at least good enough for shooting stumps.

yep the 38 cases for great.
Take snippers and make 4 bleeder blades for added damage on small game.
They are cheap and easy to get. I reload for my S&W jframe so I have a lot.
