Title: Waldrop pac seat specs?
Post by: Scott357 on December 01, 2012, 10:29:00 PM
Geez! another pac seat thread!

I have come to the conclusion that my milk crate seat isnt going to do the trick. I can only sit an hour or so before I start to move and fidget. Last night I sat on it for about 4 hours. My rear end and back still hurt tonight. I am going to start looking for a new seat. Seems like the pac seat gets rave reviews. I have some questions about it:

First and foremost: Whats the weight limit? I am a big(fat) guy and I hover around 300-315 lbs. Will it hold my lard butt?

Second most important question: How much money are they?

How long does it take to get one? Are they made to order or does he stock them?

Does anyone have any pictures of themselves actually sitting in the seat at full draw with their bow? My bow is a 62" Pearson Stallion. I cant seem to get the hang of shooting while canting the bow and I have to shoot with the bow as close to vertical as possible. Would the seat work for me?

Thanks to all,

Scott.

I can answer some of your questions.  I ordered one back in the summer.  It was $155 including shipping and took about a week for me to get it.  It is worth every penny.

As for the weight no problem. Holds me fine.
I don't think you will be able to shoot vertical. The seat is low to the ground. I prefer to cant my long bow and have no problems.

The chair is the easiest to carry and set up I've had. I used a home made cushion, with it.

I recently bought a hunt more seat and even though it is a little harder to pac I prefer it because it is higher, adjustable and pivots.

Scott, I hunted from mine today. I am large, 250. The seat is s bit uncomfortable after awhile. I solved that problem with a small chair pillow, about 8"x 12", to sit on. Comfy, comfy, comfy. Not good with photobucket but I'll email pics if you want.

The Waldrop is great for pack in situations. Very easy to carry and will handle your weight just fine. Can be set-up several ways which will give you a little more ground clearance. I have no problem shootin 66" HH bows out of mine with very little cant. Talk to Mr. Waldrop before ordering. It is my understanding that his is a one man operation. Good luck and good hunting.

Great seat....have used mine since Oct 1st. Has kept me comfy for 3-4 hours at a time.  I do have a tenancy to nap in mine now and then.....lol!

Thanks for the replies. Its between the packseat and the Huntmore 360. I hunt public land and have to move around a lot. I mostly canoe in and might walk a few hundred yards or a mile or more when I get out of the canoe. If it ices up then I have to hike in quite a ways to get away from road hunters. From the threads I have been reading it sounds like I might be better off with the packseat. I hate having to make these high stress decisions!

Scott.
