hmm...gonna see how far of a ride it is from SE NY
Jeff, hope to be there this year. It will be the first time.
:clapper: :jumper:
I would like to make it there this year. I have 3 beagles that are rearing to get out and run.
Will this be my first year? I think YES!! Look forward to it.
It's on our calendar here at the Vines Compound.
This is such a blast, one of my favorite gatherings!
Going to try hard to make it Jeff. Probably won't be able to do much walking on broken ground, but will be fun to get out.
Ron
Daisy and I will be there for sure. Fred and I ran Daisy in there today, didn't kill any rabbits, but we got a few going. NEED SNOW!
About 10 hours Sean. I looked at this hunt last year.
I'll be there for sure this year. Only 20 miles from my house!
Need some meat for the freezer. Unless my wife finally gets a job, I'm in.
thanks Jeff, for posting this...we also have a facebook page "Michigan Bunny Stomp" like us if you're on there!
tracker1,double Jfinkm1 - we look forward to you guys coming for the first time!
Bladepeek, no worries there's plenty to do at the covered pavillion, lots of tables, a outdoor fireplace..a great place to just hang out if you don't want to hit the brush!
Cyclic Rivers, if you guys or anyone is traveling and needs any help with directions, accomodations and such let me know!
Thanks Jeff and Drew and everyone that helps put this together. I will be there this year too. I missed last year but not again. Hopefully we get some snow to hold for then.
I will definitely be there again this year. My first last year and we had a blast following Daisy!!! Great day with great people!!!!
We are not sure on the Charity yet, some of our sponsors would like to see it go to St. Jude's. Either way, we'll have a ton of fun and the funds raised will go to a great charity :D
Daisy is going to have some things to donate this year!
Jandin and I will be making it this year for our second time. Would have been our third but last year we went into labor Friday morning....ok, having a pregnant wife that was a second from popping any second pretty much crossed it off the calendar for me...but this year, we're excited to be back. Hopefully bringing a couple friends for their first time!
Awesome Bryan look forward to you guys coming and yes PLEASE bring some friends! That lil one of yours got a bow yet?
Roger, thanks...i'll bring a few extra treats for Ms. Daisy!
The charity WILL BE St. Judes this year!!
We're hoping to hit 200 people this year, and we're gonna try to raise $2000 - big goals for this hunt, but we're gonna try hard!!
Hoping to make it this year (along with the Kzoo show). Missed out on both last year.
rathbuck, please do and bring your family and/or friends too!
Well I am going to see if I can get at least 5 newbies to make it this year!
Looks like my son Sean and I will make it this year.
Man I love the bunny stomp but I'll be hunting pigs with a bunch of longbow fellas that weekend in Ga. Best of luck to everyone!!!
Thom
Rick looking forward to seeing you and Sean...Good luck Thom hunting those piggies!

Looking forward to you coming Jon!
Well I have 3 confirmed coming with me this year, still waiting on a couple more. Will try to get a couple things lined up to donate for the raffle also. Should be a great time!!!!
Cool Scott, glad you're bringing some extras!!
TTT, mark your calendar guys...this is gonna be another great Bunny Stomp!
We've got a facebook page up and going "Michigan Bunny Stomp" find us and like us!
I'll be there.
Drew, to raise more $, bigger items should be auctioned off and not in the raffle IMO. Your thoughts? We can mix it up too, but the auction items usually bring a decent donation. Anyone with kids I would guess approves of St Jude's, amazing charity I hope to never have to use.

Awesome, always love having you Matt and the rest of the crew who usually comes with ya!
True, but it all depends on IF we get the big items and how many turn out! We give EVERY penny back to St. Judes we raise..so a few of us spend quite a bit to put the event on every year.
We've got one custom kids self bow for silent auction this year (A BIG THANK TO THE BOWYER who I'll announce later) and Dave & Tracey from St. Joe River have always given us a gift certificate good for a in stock youth bow! (THANK YOU GUYS!). We're planning on mixing it up this year some Matt, we do the best we can.
If anyone is willing to donate a bigger item and would like to see if auctioned, just let me know!
Thanks for the input Matt, it really helps!!
Drew, Would be happy to make the same donation as last year, I never heard from the guy that one the gift certificate last year, but am happy to do the same this year. Will do any mount up to $500 value, be it a whitetail, fish, full body mount[ yote, fox ? ] , turkey, birds, ducks, whatever ? Will make it again this year with one or two others, Todd
Awesome Todd glad to have you guys again this year! Thank you for the donation! I'm not sure why people aren't using the gift certificates?! I've heard that from a few people. I hope to keep better track of who wins what and we'll bring it up before the stomp....unless someone else has some different ideas.
My fault for not writing his name and number down, will do that this year, maybe he just had a slow season ? Look forward to seeing everyone at the shoot. Looks like it will be just me and Big Jon, making the shoot hope we have some snow soon! Todd
I won the gift certificate 2 years ago but diidnt get a chance to use it last season. Found a buddy to ride down with me this year. Can't wait. Now to just get some bunny arrows around.
Mike, that was for a euro or antler mount, it was one of three, its still good, just let me know and I will get it taken care of, hope you get to use it soon. Todd
Drew PM me your sddress and I will mail you the gift certicate or if you prefer pick it up from us at Kalamazoo. By the way it can be used towards anything on our website or as payment towards a custom bow.
Todd no worries we'll try to keep track too this year!
Mr. Dave sent ya a pm!
Gonna be another great year guys!!! I can't wait
I will make up a 1/2 dozen custom douglas fir arrows for the raffle. Question is, do you want Flu Flu, shields or 3 of each to make 2 raffle items? There is an added bonus that there will be 6 protoype field points on them from Eclipse. They produce no target burn on the arrow. Just let me know what you all are interested in.
Mike, I'd suggest 3 of each to make up 2 raffle items. Thanks! -Drew
I'm looking forward to this one again. Last year was my first and wont be the last. Anyone on the fence, DO IT! This is a great time with a great group of folks.
I'll be donating a western diamondback skinned turkey box call for the table this year.
-Dan
Awesome Dan, thanks! Probably should have saved some carp skin shouldn't we? :D

There will be more... Many more.
What an enjoyable thread to read through. What a great effort and great event. I've haven't made a Bunny Stomp yet but this year I hope to. If I'm not shooting my bow yet, I'll take Annie with me and just enjoy the walk and of course contribute to the cause.
Thanks to all of you guys who work so hard at this each year!
Chuck we look forward to you coming and yes please bring anyone you want sleepy hollow is a great park to enjoy either hunting or hanging out...we'll have the outdoor fireplace going!
Hope the snow is a good sign of things to come..
and the world didn't end... go figure..lol
Thanks Drew. Not sure how much Annie would contribute to "stomping" out those pesky bunnies but she's always up for a walk although right now she seems pretty content to be curled up with her fleece blanket next to me on the couch. :)
BTW, Annie is our spoiled little beagle, not my wife. :)
That would be great to have you there Chuck, would love to hear more about your bear hunt.
Just found a bunch of birch arrows I haven't shot in a while, hope the "Iron Bunny of arrow death" makes it would like to see a couple of those explode!! Would like to see a couple make it through as well.
Hey guys.. Really looking forward to making my first but curious if I will be able too? I have another charity dinner that night in Cedar Springs I need to be at. What time is this event usually wrapping up?
It ends when you go home! Many guys come for the morning hunt, lunch, auction and then split. Many others stay for all that then hunt in the afternoon. Other stay for the afternoon but choose the shoot something other than their bows for a while. It's all up to you. I'd think you could EASILY stay through the auction and be in in Cedar springs by 5:00.
Thanks Dave.. Sounds like I will not have a problem!!

It's up to you how long you make it last...lunch is at noon, and the raffle follows, depending on how much stuff we have for the raffle will dictate how long it goes! We try to move through it as quick as possible.
Looking forward to see everyone ! I just received some additional goodies to throw on the raffle table.See you all there !
Missed last year but will try to make it this year for sure!
Thanks for the info Jeff!
Can I bring my raffle items with me?
Roger, yes just pm me and let me know what your bringing if it's from someone other than you...thanks!
I've got a raffle item or two to bring with me as well, looking forward to the shoot, Todd

Just realized that this is the same weekend as Outdoorama and the MI Deer Spectacular. Guess I'll have to hit Outdoorama during one of the evenings.
Sorry Rathbuck, we can't avoid every event going on in Feb...but we try!
22 days!!!
LOL - didn't mean it that way - sorry! I was just checking my calendar, and saw the Bunny Stomp, Deer Spectacular, and Outdoorama all in the same weekend.
My wife has patience, but that might be overdoing it! :)
I plan on meeting up with you guys on the 23rd - looking forward to it, and thanks for putting all this together!
Daisy and I are ready :bigsmyl: From this morning:

Myself, my son Sean and my buddy Doug in my group.
We have 3 for sure, maybe a fourth.
Usually the bunny killer and TV show personality Tom from BDO :D will be there too. He's planning on it last I checked.
Have another raffle item to bring with me also, won it last year wife said NO!, real nice wood bow and arrow rack, to many animals in the shop to put it up in there, Todd
ttt
I'll be there. 4 days and a wake-up, yeee haaa
3 days and a wake up!
My son and I organized the tables at the pavillion yesterday.
Also picked up the the snakey osage youth self bow which has snake skins and buffalo horn tips...we'll be doing that as a silent auction!
As usual, I won't be around again this year.. I'll be boarding a plane in GR saturday morning, bound for Florida.
Oldest daughter is headed to her first "spring training" week with the Alma Scots softball team! Hoping she shows her stuff and earns a spot on the varsity team at shortstop or second base. Have a great day and bust a bunny or two!
Dave
Just got notice today that we are working this weekend. Sorry to have to miss this hunt, but the extra $ is useful come hunting season. I would much rather work OT this time of year then hunting season.
I know I don't need to say it, but have fun everyone. I'll try again next year.
Ditto Mike's circumstances... I'm on call this weekend. I fully expected to be there so I could show Roger my "little girl" Annie. Bummer.
I hope everyone has a great time - I'm sure you will. Should be a great day for it re the weather.
I'm going to try and make it
Weather forcast looks good
Dang it Chuck and Mike! Oh well...duty calls.
Ron, you should come, Daisy hunts slow, just like you and I....

I'm up and ready, almost time to go. Forecast 26 and rising slightly 40% chance of snow..
Just got home, Wanted to say thank you to Drew and the rest of his friends that set this up every year. You all put in alot of your time and money for us to enjoy a day in the woods with like minded people. Wish I was a bit more out going and spent some time getting to know more guys like you, I'm just a bit shy I guess. Honestly THANK YOU! I think it was Kevin ? that went home with my taxidermy donation, please don't hesitate to use it, and yes I will mount a carp! lol Again thanks, Todd ----wish I wasn't cash strapped that Journeymen bow would have come with me it was stolen at that price. Beautiful bow,
Thanks to everyone that came, donated, and everyone that helps make it possible! We raised $1,815.00 For st.judes. (Edited to adjust amount after we counted and double checked)
I'll post more later and continue to thank everyone...I'm whipped and so are my boys.
More to come!
What a great day for a great cause! Thank you to everyone who weather the weather to make it over to Sleepy Hollow State Park; we had a really good crowd and a record number of beagles. Thanks to all those who brought their dogs.
Thanks Drew and all! Your efforts are appreciated, its getting to be a popular winter event.
My son and I had a great time! Drew, thanks for all of the effort you put into this event...we will definitely be back next year.
We saw a few bunnies (none of which were stomped), meet some new friends, and got to hang out with my son all day...can't beat that!

As soon as next year is scheduled, I'll definitely have it on the schedule.
And note to self: bring extra cash for auction - that was a steal!!!!!

(Big thanks to my wife and boys, who let me hunt and keep me focused)
Huge thanks to everyone who comes, donates and helps us! We had a lot of people come early to help set up, bring extra stuff and lots of dogs this year!
Hopefully I didn't forget anyone! If I did please forgive me!
There are other rabbit hunts around the State but the Bunny Stomp is the best IMO. The food and the prizes made up for the lack of bunny's on the pole.
I had a great time...My camera was in my shirt pocket but I was so busy either stuffing my mouth or running it that I never thought to take a single picture... :clapper:
You all did an awsome job again, everybody who was involved with the planning and put this event together deserves a huge thank you!!!! I am already looking forward to next year. Love to hear those beagles sing. And the proceeds go to a geat cause.
I had a real fun time. Always great to hop across the section and see a bunch of trad shooters having a fun time. the money raised was amazing, and the food was plentiful. Thanks to all who pitched in.
CTT
My son and I had an awsome time, what a great way to spend a Saturday. My hat's off to everyone that make this happen every year.
This hunt has become one of the best things we do here in Michigan....and we do a lot of traditional archery "stuff". Drew and Crew, you guys are awesome, thank you so much!
Daisy hasn't moved off the couch since we got home... :bigsmyl:
Thanks Drew and Crew. This was the first time at the bunny stomp and you guys run like a well oiled machine. I had a great time I hope to see you guys again next year.
Great picture Rodger.
Nice to talk to you yesterday
CTT
I missed it this year due to bad shoulder and having to work. Sounds like it was a great time! If anyone can post more pics it would be appreciated! There is a rumor that Rick Butler put an arrow through the center of the Iron Bunny! :notworthy: Can anyone verify that? :dunno:
We had several guys slip an arrow through the iron bunny this year...more than ever! :archer2:
Thanks guys! Had a great time, met some new people and won some Muzzy broadheads. Had fun shooting after the auction with some fellow trad archers. Can't wait till next year.
Thanks to all that put this on each year. Only wish I could do more. Had a great time again, met some new people and had some great food to go along with the bunny hunt. How could anyone ask for more than that. Can't wait till next year!!!
Sorry I haven't gotten pics up yet...still gathering some up!
One thing i'd like to point out that this year, EVERY kid in attendence went home with a prize!!
Even some big kids got prizes, I know this is the first year...i've really ever won something!
Drew...the best bunny stomp yet....It was great seeing all the kids go home with a prize...thanks for all the effort from all that contributed...hunters,friends,vendors etc... A great time for a great cause!

Hey Chuck, I was thinking the same thing....very nice talking with you.
Package heading your way Roger.
thanks.
I want to thank the dudes that put this thing on each year. Lots of hands involved I think so I won't leave anybody out. You guys do good work and it is fun and goes to a great cause. Everybody that shows up has done good. Thank you all.
CTT
Thanks Chuck for donating to the Bunny stomp and stopping by with the Echo demo bows! I really liked the one I shot at Kzoo! Look forward to having one for next year's event.
I put the set of silencers I won on my Robertson recurve, they look great!
I sure was looking forward to it until I realized it was scheduled the same day as our local club's wild game dinner and fund raiser. We had some great food, raised $3080, but I really regretted missing the Bunny Stomp. Next year I will be extremely vocal about not scheduling our event the same day. Not that anyone listens to me :)
Jeff, the knife I donated to the FRCC fund raiser brought in $415 in raffle money. Maybe I can get one done for the Stomp next year.
Ron
Ron, congrats! Sure just let me know about if you want to donate one for next year!
I just wanted to thank everyone who put together this years Bunny Stomp.
My boys and I (CJ, Jarred and myself, Jeff Burns) had a great time.
Although it was my first, My son CJ attended last year and scheduled shoulder surgery around this years Bunny Stomp.(he is recovering well)
I would also like to thank Terry Folts for all he has done for me and my family.
It was nice to meet everyone and share a special day together.
It was nice to meet you Roger and your dog Daisy. Thanks for letting us tag along!
