I have always believed that Texas grows the most handsome whitetails out there!
Well done Gents!!
All nice bucks indeed! I even see someone I know (Roland, your bowyer). No bucks for me this year yet. Heck, it has been a chore just to get one doe in the freezer this year.
Congrats to all of you guys on some nice deer.

Some real nice bucks!
Hey Ken
Just curious, do you own or lease the land you hunt?
Nice bucks!
Bill
Bill, my neighbors let me hunt on 50 acres at no charge, and my son in law has 60 acres, Roland leases about 100 acres in east Texas. Lots of land and you know someone or lease some land or both. For bow hunting you don't need much but the law states you must have 10 or more acres.
We have 3 months to hunt deer with bow and you can kill 3 bucks(2 in your county) and 4 does where I live( 254 counties in texas). Some counties have a one buck( has to be 12 1/2" between antlers. Makes it hard for bow hunting, because you have to get out of the tree and measure the horns before you shoot(just kidding) ha,ha? It is over 500 miles for me to get out of the state in any diriction? Ken
Thanks Ken, Really like the looks of those Texas bucks!
Solana crew will hopefully be adding to this thread in a few weeks :bigsmyl:
Ken, did you use to sell some leather products, if so, I still wear a latigo belt I bought from you a lot of years ago at Vanderpool.
ttt
Nice bucks Ken and Tx gents!
Another nice one Ken!
Congrats!
Wardancer, How have you been, Bill? I hope all is going well for you and yours.
Bish, I always enjoy reading your post and seeing your pics. I am doing well hope to see you at Vanderpool.
Great pics! I hunt in Canton - east Tx and no shoot opportunities yet. Yeah gotta love Tx hunting you never know what will come out
Ken, those are some nice Deer! Thanks for starting this thread!
Hello Ken! :wavey: Looks like I'll have to get down to Texas one of these days! Beautiful Bucks! Congrats to all The Hunters that have taken them!
Bentpole, come on down! We talk funny but you will get used to it!
All beauties!! Congrats to all the hunters! Texas deer are indeed the pretty boys of the whitetails, kinda like the guys in the perfume commercials. :goldtooth: No offense to any of you perfume models.
Any Trad Gangers coming to Texas to hunt deer at Solana ranch or other better get ready for the deer ducking your arrow? This season the weather has been quiet and even the deer from 7 yards out are ducking my longbow and it is quiet!
I hope Terry will post the great stuff about where to hold to hit these wild Texas deer?
These deer only weight field dressed about 75 to 120 lbs and they are quick. I think it is because they are only half the size of Northern and Midwest bucks?
At 12 yards we are holding at the elbow and it hits 5 to 6" high! At 15 yards holding about under belly behind front leg?
My bow has a SBD string and cat whiskers and is quiet! I use carbon arrows! The only other thing might be to use wood arrows?
Hope Terry will put up the point of aim he made up for Texas deer?
