I tried my first insert install and messed it up. Someone recommended using half to start with and i only used the resin without the hardener. So i tried to remix and fix it but i dont think it will work.
So I have some plastic epoxy set time 10 min,24 hour cures around and it says it bonds to metal. DO you think this will work? i also have this glue called weldbond any one ever heard of it?? feel free to help. Thanks
I supposed it is for carbon shafts?I'm not used with carbon, give more details on the shafts and glue you are using and guys here will help ;)
I just use gorilla glue impact formula. I tried to heat some up to get them out the other day and couldn't get them out. It's quick and easy.
If you are using carbon shafts just get yourself a bottle of Bohning Insert Iron. This is the best insert glue I have ever used.
I'm not sure about the plastic epoxy. You could try it. The worst thing that could happen is that you would lose a few inserts in targets if it does not work.

The faster epoxy sets the more brittle it is. The longer it takes to set the more flexibility it has, thus meaning it has more ability to absorb hits on bone, hard ground, and other things with out coming a part.
Thanks,
Hey thanks for responding. Sorry i didnt give more info. The shafts i am using are berman mfx classic carbon shafts. I live far in the country and just happen to have this around and hope it will work. Also
when taking the inserts out what will i have to do to make sure the new epoxy will set. Do i need to score it or scrub it or clean it with alchol. or can i just put the new insert in . Thnks
You need to clean the old resin out first; alcohol with a q-tip should do it. Acetone generally isn't recommended for use on carbon shafts although some claim they get away with it. Better safe than sorry IMHO. The trick with any epoxy is get everything clean and to be as precise as you can with the proper resin to hardner ratio. 10 minute epoxy will work, but as mentioned above it's a little brittle and might cost you an insert or two getting stuck in the target.
