I'm shooting GT 3555's in my 45# @ 28" draw Super Kodiak, 27.5" actual draw length for me, with good results with 125 and 150 gr. field and broadheads.
I'm getting a 55# @ 28" draw, same 27.5" actual draw for me. Will the 3555's work, or do I need to go with a stiffer spine (5575?), and what weight broadhead should I consider?
thanks, Dan
Howdy Dan,
Alot depends on the type of bow and how close to or past center the shelf is cut. If you want higher GPP then the 55/75s are the ticket. if you want light then 35/55s MIGHT work, BUT, you'd be so light in GPP that it may be too light.
If I were in your shoes I'd go 55/75 with 50 or 100gr inserts and appropriately weighted points to get good tune.
The closer to center or past center your bow, the higher likelyhood of the need for a stiffer static spine.
If your new bow is the same make/model (Kodiak) then definitely the 55/75s.
Thanks Bud B, the current 55#'er is an old Darton Super Flite Hunter, but there is a Bear Grizzly 55#'er in the not-to-distant future. I'll get a couple 5575's made up and give 'em a try. thanks again.
Dan
