I have been shooting cavalier tabs for a couple of years now. I use to shoot split but shoot three under now. Because the tab is split, part of my leather creases and I have to smooth it out with some pitch blend. The problem would be solved if the piece of leather was solid with no gap in the leather for three under shooters. Has anyone else had this problem. I am going to call them Monday and see if I can buy a solid piece of replacement leather.
Black Widow makes a 3 under tab with some of the same features as the Cavalier, if you ever want to try something different. I would recommend the calf's hair. It's not cordovan, but it's pretty slick.
I've used the Cavalier Elite for two years and I shoot 3 fingers under. I haven't had any issue. I can't imagine shooting any other tab.
Roy, have you replaced your leather. The top have of the slit will give way and crease.
Dave, I use the top have of the cavilier as a third anchor point.
It would be nice if the made a cavalier with a solid piece of cordovan. I trim my tabs down and that could be the problem also with the split.
With Cordovan, I'd recommend NEVER putting "gunk" (pitchblend or anything else) on it. There are several 3 under Cordovan tabs out there = Bateman for one.

You could take the leather off of it, trace it out and cut it out without the split, then Mark the holes and punch em, then reattach. I've done this with the cavalier tab, works great.
Thats what I did with My Cavalier tab. I bought a Left Handed one to begin with, I am Right handed. I tried that for a while shooting 3 under, but it bugged the crap outta me! Then I scored a Nice hunk of Latigo leather to replace the Split Leather! Shoots like a Dream!! Good luck, I know you will love it!
I have two lefties. I trimmed them just a bit. I'm not sure the problem you are describing? I shoot a LOT, almost daily and I've never had the tab crease or split?
I wrote above I have no complaints...actually I have one. The metal base could scratch a bow. Once I put a thin foam cover on the metal plate but it eventually wore away. I'm thinking to maybe use a moleskin next? I haven't actually damaged a bow with the tab but I have to be a little careful in handling the bow with the tab in place.
Tom, I am thinking about doing that, if I can find a small piece of cordovan. You usually have to buy a big piece.
Roy, the split I am talking about is the cut out section for split finger shooters. What happens with my tab is the upper part wants to crease towards that open area. I still have some nerve damage in my right hand in my 4th and 5th fingers due to an unrelated accident back in the spring.
