Title: Tiller question/ 3 under to split finger
Post by: PastorSteveHill on August 16, 2007, 04:39:00 PM
Hello guys, I have been fooling around with shooting split finger. I have a bow tillered for 3 under. Can I shoot my bow tillered for 3 under split fingered?

I know with a bow tillered for split, to shoot it 3 under you have to raise the nocking point, what advise would you give me if I shoot split finger with a bow set for 3 under?

Will it make the bow louder if I shoot it split finger?

Steve, It'll be quieter split no matter how it's tillered. It won't hurt it eitherway and either way you'll need to set the nock point to whatever is necessary....O.L.

So what is the advantage of having a bow tillered for split finger? Or is the advantage in having it set for 3 under if one shoots that way????

Normally you will have a lower nock point shooting three under if its tillered for three under. When tillered for split fingers and shot three under the nock point will be higher, with everything else being the same.

According to my Bowyer [Herb Meland/Pronghorn] it makes no diff in how he builds the bow..  And yes my nock point is high or so it seems

6 of 1 half a dz of the other. Bareshaft tune it and it will shoot great. Don't bother trying to make something of nothing. Its a mirror you can go from one to the other. Granted you bareshaft tune it to the way you chose.
