I have been shooting GT 3555 out of my mohawk long bow. It is very quiet and no hand shock with 100g inserts and 250g heads. Bow specs are 64" 47#@28 and I pull 27. I would like to try some wood arrows. I would like some tapered douglas fir arrows. But I want to get some that are close to the same weight as what i'm shooting. I am thinking 60/65 spine with 190g VPA's up front. What do you think. Any help would be great. I would like to build the arrows myself.
That would be pretty close. Might get by with 55-60#, but I lean toward the heavier 60-65#. Most bows will shoot an overspined arrow well, not so an underspined arrow.

I'm not sure what the weight of your arrows are but I shoot 60-65 spine surewoods cut to 30" Bop with 130 grains up front and my arrows come in around 540 grains. Surewoods website might also be of some help as far as weight approximate weights of shaft go.
Thank you, Happy Thanksgiving!
