Hello All;
My name is Kile Dearinger and I am very glad to be part of your group. I have been archery hunting for 15 plus years, and though I enjoyed practice and 3d shoots, it was just a reason to become profiecent enough to take deer and elk with my compound. Until a friend at the range let me start shooting his recurve! Wow! I have never had such a blast. Shooting became such a joy and a major stress relief from every day life. I then purchased a used Morrison Cheyenne. I've since sold 2 of my 3 compounds and the 3rd sits in the closet!
At first and for several months I wasn't sure if I could become good enough to take animals with a recurve, but after shooting in several 3d tournaments and months of practice, things started to click. I started placing higher in these shoots and by the end of summer I committed myself to hunting full time with my recurve. I hunted for mule deer in Oregon and though I missed a shot at a nice 3x3, I did take 3 grouse from 15 to 20 yards. I am also hunting late season elk starting this Friday.
I have visited this site for a year and a half, and signed on as a member several months ago. Though this is my first post, I have gathered so much valuable info over these last months (including making my own hand painted woodies), that I really am thank full there is a site with so many generous, nice and knowledgeable people.
Thanks again;
Kile
