We finished backing my recurve. It looks pretty good. Time will tell how well it holds up.
Here are some pictures of our progress along the way.

Nice job.
don't set that bow down in the woods! You'll loose it.
Nice job Kelvin. Was it very difficult to do? Where'd you get the skins. ...Lloyd
Good job, looks awesome.
My only suggestion would be to center the skins diamonds a little more carefully on the limbs.
When I skin a bow I will spend a good bit of time adjusting the pattern to be as perfectly centered as I can get it.
I skinned an osage bow yesterday with a split timber rattler skin. I centered the chevrons as well as I could but because the splits were a bit narrow I couldn't get everything as perfectly aligned as I would have liked.
Nice job! Gotta love those snakeskin bows!

Very pretty. Great job sir. Thanks for sharing with us.

I thought they were centered up. After we went back too work on them later one was off a bit. My son said it was the one he glued.I'm pleased with it for the first time. It's fine for me but I would be a little more careful next time. Maybe a longbow.
Beautiful, my suggestion is... "Don't let that gorgeous bow outta your sight for one second!" Very nice.
Looks good to me. Nice job. I wish I could find copper heads that long.
This bow had copperheads on for about 20 years. They were almost 40 inches long. I know most people have never seen them that long ,but they can and are few and far between. It took me 6 months too find two like that. One was a road kill and the other was killed in a food plot.
Good job! I've often thought about skinning my Hoyt Huntmaster. How did remove the bushings?
Take a small hammer and the right size socket and on the back side tap it out. If you have access to a press use it instead. But I would pad it so not too mar the glass. To put it back in just start it by hand then use the limb bolts to reinsert them
I do think that the draw weight has increased a few pounds. I need to take it to the farm and check it on the scales. The weight is 55# at 28inand it is 54in long
Looks good!!
We just came in from my Dads farm and pulled out the scales to check the bow. It is 55# at 28in. It weighed in at 61# at 28in. That's a 6# difference. It seems to shoot just as smooth as before. Does anyone think it will be a problem? I guess only time will tell. I have always checked the bow before I shoot it. Now I'll just check it closer.
I had no idea that it increased draw weight, but good job, that's nice. If the arrows still fly good, no problem.
