My teenage daughter has been shooting quite a bit lately, especially after all the archery in the movies.
She tells me the other day that she'd like to try to shoot a turkey while we are up in Kansas over Thanksgiving, which I'm thrilled with. All my kids like to shoot, but there hasn't been much interest in hunting yet.
Anyway, I told her that she needed to be pretty proficient in order to hunt, so she starts buckling down on the practice. I came out to watch her, and she decides to show off her rapidly improving skills. She placed a .5 liter plastic bottle, end on, between the ears of a fox target and proceeds to tell me that whoever hits it first wins. So we stroll out to about 20 yards, and before I could even get an arrow knocked she absolutely drilled it!
I'll never hear the end of it now, and it will be even worse if she gets a turkey before I do! :biglaugh:
:bigsmyl:
That is probably the coolest way to be embarrassed by your family :)
 Means your a good teacher.
Proud dad moment.. LOVE IT!!!
Ahhh, the treachery of youth !!! Got a teenage son who has been whoooping up on me for years. I can beat him every now and then here in the backyard, but not very often. Sure is fun though to get under his skin even if it is only for a short time..... :goldtooth:
Good on you Dad! Good luck chasing turkey's in KS.
K.C. <><
She has the eyes of youth! Just be the Thanksgiving guide and clean her Turkey for her and enjoy yourself!!

Out standing....
Outstanding post the pics of the Turkey when she gets one.
Sounds like a case of good couching to me. Good luck with those Turkey's!
Your a blessed man
That's great. Look at it this way, now she can go out and bring home ( what's for dinner ).
 Good stuff!

Right on Dad! I've got my 25 year old daughter hunting with me tomorrow. :goldtooth: i started her in archery at age 4, and she used to go hunting with me a lot.... age 18 goes to college, age 21 graduates school.... Then she got married and is bearing down on her PHD now.... we haven't hunted together in 4 years.... i am Soooooo jazzed she still wants to hunt with me....
morale of story..... enjoy every moment while you can bro.... next thing you know there all grown up and you need to make an appointment to see them... :dunno:
How's it get any better than that?
Well, it probably can as that sounds like just the start of things to come.
You're a lucky man.
That is great to see. Keep up the great work with her
