Does anybody have some pics or ideas of a neat way to display a kill arrow? Means more to me to have the visual representation of the arrow than another one in the quiver, can always replace them!
I have been trying to figure out a way as well. So i hope someone has a good idea on this.
I clean them up and get another one with them.
I make hangers out of driftwood for stuff like that. I'm about a half mile from the Mississippi so I just go find some flat driftwood. Clean it up. Then I Woodbury the date and other info into it and hang it on the wall.
*woodburn not Woodbury.

I used to do that until I switched to carbons. :nono:
Only the broken ones which I hang about in the antlers, not necessarily the antlers the arrow killed. Not very scientific but I'm not sentimental over kill arrows.

I'll have to come up with something if I ever kill anything....lol! :jumper:
My string of arrows has increased by about 5 more arrows since this pic was taken. If my arrow is o.k. it goes back in the quiver if no it goes on the wall.Kip

I re-use the heads. This year's deer was the third on this same Stos. The shafts (cedar or Douglas fir) invariably break. I have a bunch of them in the cellar rafters around my workbench. I have five "experienced" broadheads on stubs of bloody shafts stuck in a 2 x 4 beside my reloading/arrowsmithing bench.
Hardly a "display" but I sure like looking at them and reminiscing.

The only one I didn't reuse the head on.

I use several five gallon buckets. HA!
Magnus, is that a Sheepeater you got hangin there? Nice display, I want to try something similar with wild pig feet...
I don't have a wood burner, but am pretty handy with some sand paper and a hand saw :bigsmyl: I'll see if I can come up with something before too long.
Here's a few of mine........This one has 3 to 4 on each row of pegs, and the arrows are tagged with data.
I don't have a son....so I'm saving what I can in case I have a grandson.

That looks awesome Terry! by the way check your email if you don't mind I sent you an email about the arrow dynamics shafts.
That is sweet looking Terry!
And that is a real nice lope by the way!
I also use antlers
Marley yes that is. Wish I still had it but it wasn't getting hunted so it needed a new home.
Very nice display Terry.
I hunt big game with some pretty nice custom cedar arrows and reuse those I can, but I don't really have the room to display the damaged ones.
After they've served their purpose, I use a fine tip permanent marker to write the date, species, etc., then sign them and sometimes give them to friends that want them as souvenirs... of course they are nicest with the broadheads still attached!
I have only gotten one deer, but I cleaned the arrow up & placed it between the tines on the antlers. I don't think it's tacky that way.
