Title: GFA Quiver and Haversack!
Post by: Lee Viv on November 12, 2012, 08:07:00 AM
I was looking for a new hunting quiver...never can get used to a back quiver...so I ordered a GFA quiver.  Since my backpack was in rough shape...and I decided to hunt with less junk that I never use in my pack..I ordered a haversack as well.....

The quiver is the best quiver I have used!  It is out of the way...and has an arrow at the ready with little effort!  The haversack has more than enough room for whatever I need...and being wool is quiet walking through the woods.....

Thanks to Fred and Teresa for carrying such great products!

Exactly my set up for quiver & carry...you will be very happy.

Best thing about the haversack? You will love that it is silent. Ever try to go into your gear bag for something like a grunt call.....on one of those silent crispy cold mornings? The GFA Haversack is absolutely silent.

With regards to the GFA Quiver....spend some time experimenting with strap length. I leave mine fairly long, and am forever moving it's position on my body based on what I'm doing...walking through a field, open woods, brushy area, climbing, etc. Very versatile.

Roger,

thanks for the input! I do echo your comment on the quietness of the haversack..i have used fanny packs, backpacks, and all seem to be in the way or noisy..with the haversack I can fit all I need in it for a daily hunt....and it is quiet and easy to get at things without zippers and such...I am still experimenting with the quiver and strap length....but am enjoying using both alot!

So do you hang the quiver on one side of your body and the haversack on the other? Also, how do you carry binoculars?

Inquiring minds want to know Lee, do you have pics of how you wear/arrange that. I'm wondering if it would be in the way also, but I also know that many times when what I need is in my backpack, I just leave it there because of the inconvenience of taking it off. Maybe Roger has a pic he could share too?

No pictures. I hang haversack on left side of body then quiver over right side since I am right handed to get arrows easier. I still hunt or hunt from blowdowns or natural blinds so many times the haversack stays on to reach things easier and quieter. Binoculars go around neck last. Pretty nice setup once I got things organized!

I use the same setup as well.    Now you just need to add a wool pullover or vest.  :D

The haversack is so much handier than a fanny/day pack for me. Whatever you need is right there without taking a pack off and messing with zippers. They hold more stuff than you would believe if you haven't tried one.

Actually I do have a wool pullover!  Works great!  With the haversack I can reach inside without worrying about zippers, and it has enough room to hold anything I need.
