How long of a bow should I get for my six year old son. His little maddog recurve is getting too small for him. I believe the one he has now is 18# at 21". He doesn't really need a step up weight. I want a longbow this time for some torsion stability so his dad don't twist it during stringing.
48" should be good. Get a maddog pup longbow, that is what I have for my kids.
St.Joe River Bows make some knock out kids longbows!!
What would be the 18@21 equivalent for @24"?
Black Rhinos are great kids bows and Chuck is very good at matching the shooter to the bow. They are a TG sponsor. www.bows.net (http://www.bows.net)
Maddog
Around 48" length should be perfect. it will give him Lots of grow room

Depending on the bow. It could varies between 3-5lbs increase per inch. 18#@21 translates to roughly 27/33#@28.
My 6-year old has a 48" Maddog. It's a great little bow.
