Title: 4 3 inch feathers
Post by: Fastltz on November 05, 2012, 01:32:00 PM
So i have been playing with 4 fletched arrows after some erratic flight from my broad heads,i really like how 4 fletch flies and have just fletched up some 4 3 inch feathers. They seem to control the broad head as good as 4 inchers and seem snappier. I havent run them through the chrono yet but will when weather permits. Anyone try 4 3 inchers hunting am worried if they get wet will i loose too much stearing.

Mine are 3.5". I've filled all my Fall deer and turkey tags so far. Next week I can take my bow out when the firearms season opens to see if I can fill that last tag...a decent buck or nothing. Love the short feathers. Faster, quieter, just as accurate, for me.

Look at the article in the recent Traditional Bowhunter, the one with the Fread Bear painting on the cover. I believe it was the article about the guy that finally got a Mountain Goat.  He talks about his arrow choice at the end of the article and I think he liked skinny arrows with Heavy tips and used 4/3" fletching.
