Well,
Going up north this weekend to Bowhunt in Northern Wisconsin (Presque Isle)
Dad sold his property with the house on the lake last December, but still owns a 7 acre parcel.
Renting a cabin nearby, and told Dad money was tight this fall. He decided he was going with me to help split the cost and share the time together, and since I'm in the middle of nowhere, if I fall out of the tree there's no one to rescue me.
The rut is on up there and many have said the bucks are actively chasing!
I'm so pumped, I had to share!
Dads 72 and I'm 42, but we still act like little kids when we go over trailcam pics and I tell him what's going on in the treestand. He stopped bowhunting in the early 90's and gun hunted till 06 but he still enjoys my stories and the videos I take from the stand.
Wish me luck tradgangers
Go gettem' Mark. Good luck.
The younger bucks were getting pretty squirrelly last weekend. Enjoy the time with your Dad!!! We only get one go around on this ride, so enjoy it with the ones you love.
Jerry
Sounds like time well spent. Best of luck!
Good luck Mark. You two remind me of me and my dad. He is 77 and loves to be in the woods.
Good luck to you guys!
Luckily my Dad still enjoys hunting. We took a trip to WY after antelope earlier this year.
He's more into fishing these days but will still hunt with some convincing.
Have fun, nothing beats time with the old man!
He stopped bowhunting and is still going with you... Cherish that.
I don't care what he said, I'll bet the main point is not to help you with the cost.
Good Luck!
God Bless,
Nathan
Always cherish the time I had with my father.
Good luck, you are a lucky man! we are the same age, and our dad's are to... but I don't get to hunt with mine!
Have a great time, be safe and share your success with us!
Cheers
Good Luck..!....Enjoy the time together..
Good luck up north Mark. And enjoy every minute of it with your dad.
Enjoy the time!
Some of my very best memories are the days I spent in the woods with my Dad. He started taking me trapping with him when I was 18 months old. At 82 he isn't hunting anymore but killed his last bull elk only about 4 or 5 years ago . :)
Shared many, many good times. Cherish yours.
So, how did it go.
My dad is 75 we just spent 9 consecutive mornings hunting whitetail. (muzzleloader) He had a stroke 2 years ago and the deer really have to get on him for him to notice them.
Even though we did not do any good it was a great hunt as we both passed numerous does and young bucks. I tried to get him to take one but he was holding out.
I hope you score and both have a great time.
Enjoy that time My Dads been gone for several years now and I guarantee you will never forget those times.
I always enjoy hunting with my Dad. In fact,I did 2 weeks ago in WI.
Hope you have a great trip and yes, deer in WI are definitely moving.
Good Luck!
