I have a soft piece of deerskin cut from the bottom of a shirt and was wondering if anyone knew of a simple way I could make some lacing from it. I remember a friend showing me years ago how to cut straight lacing using a piece of plywood with a hole in the center and pulling the lacing along a blade placed in the hole. Just cant remember the whole process. Any ideas or hints?
That sounds like a good idea. I have clamped an aluminum yard stick down on top of what I'm cutting and it works well.
Here is a lace cutter that Tandy sells for $9.99. I have never used one but it sounds simple enough.
